Let The Ladies Go Focusing on the end of the exploitation of chickens for egg production. All eggs contain suffering.

Bringing about the end of exploitation of chickens, caged, barn and free range; the end of human egg consumption. Page rules: Posters will limit their posts to positive material that brings about appreciation for our feathered sisters. There will be a NO TOLERANCE policy for anyone with an aggressive nature, violence, demonizing of those that still eat eggs or keep hens for egg production! This page is aimed at peaceful ways of bringing about awareness to chickens; it is not about creating further division in society.

Today I returned Bitey Scratchy the swamphen back to the swamp near the road I found him near death on around 6 weeks ago. As you might have surmised from his name it has been a "pleasure" to help Bitey Scratchy back to health 😑😑😑 He definitely reminded me of a horrendously injured bird who spent 6 months in my bedroom around a decade ago. I could feel the hatred every waking moment until his release day. Bitey Scratchy still has a pronounced limp; however, as you might imagine, he more than makes up for it with, well, let's be kind .... enthusiasm. Yes I forgot again to take photos/video lol

UPDATE: We have sufficient contacts for now. A massive thanks to all who contacted ###

URGENT! We were just contacted by someone at Peats Ridge NSW central coast. A death of an elderly man yesterday has left around a hundred girls in need of urgent rehoming. If you can help by taking 10 girls please CALL 0415258915. Our usual rules apply so no breeding by allowing hens to sit on eggs or by incubation; no dealers of hens or their eggs; no breeders of any animal whatsoever; no farmers of any animal whatsoever; no so-called hunters or fishers, or other animal abusers. Embarrassingly it is now several days into the new month and we still owe the good people at the vets a couple of thousand dollars. Next month we'll be taking 20 odd more girls to them for treatment, knowing that we are going to make them wait for their payment. Please donate; prayers and well wishes do nothing.

All donations will go towards rescuing & re-homing more lovely ladies, as well as feeding and providing them with the care and shelter they need. Donors will receive a receipt which they can claim back on tax :)

Thrift level: Scrooge McDuck lol; making the ICU roof trusses by hand. 5 done; 20 to go.

Sloth's second outing in almost a year from ICU resulted in a feeding vigor, compared to her first day. She's still a pain in the butt 😑

It's daunting that in less than 3 months time I'm going to lose Pen 1's night house as my construction base. That eviction, due to the next major rescue intake, will deal a crushing blow to all work that involves access to their night house for almost the following 2 years. Ultimately there is only 1 of me, limited by personal funds to doing everything the labour intensive way to save costs. At some point in early December I'll admit defeat and bring in the sand, returning this awesome work space to the deserving incoming rescues. It would really help if people could donate to the current vet bill of around 3k; that way I could allocate all my personal funds to expediting the infrastructure improvements and repairs. Also, I could really use these last few months to train an ICU volunteer (I struggle now to handle even the dozen girls currently in ICU, let alone the massive influx that ordinarily comes with a major intake). The ideal candidate would live local to Morisset NSW, have a heart that massive that they can allow their mind to override it, have made a commitment to not harm our fellow animals, and, of course be very very flexible with their availability. A must is an ability to converse by telephone; I do not have the time to play back and forth message games. 0415258915 is the number. Thank you so much 😊

Sloth (known by many more unflattering names) is currently having her first day out of inside ICU in almost a year. After being tube fed for that long it will take some time to "rekindle" the basic concept of eating and drinking on her own. This is not a bad effort for her first try. Sloth is lucky, and not just because I haven't strangled her out of frustration; one current girl has been in inside ICU so many years now that there is no chance of her ever eating and drinking on her own ever again. Like that girl, Sloth loves her little ICU day routine; however, I don't, so, anyone who shows potential to get off the ICU "dole" will be encouraged in that direction ;)
