WHEN SKILLS MEET PURPOSE: THE 2026 TASKFORCE GIVING BACK PROJECT IN FIJI 🇫🇯
On Wednesday, 12 August 2026, approximately 140 volunteers—80 skilled electricians and plumbers supported by 60 general helpers—from Laser Group New Zealand and O’Brien Electrical & Plumbing converged at Nadi District Primary School for the 2026 Taskforce Giving Back Project.
Through the dedicated coordination of Reach 4 Your Future Foundation’s Fiji Representative, Ms Lanoma Singh, and close collaboration with Nadi District Primary School and the Government of Fiji, the Taskforce completed essential infrastructure upgrades to create a safer, healthier and more welcoming learning environment for the students, teachers, parents and broader Nadi District Primary School community.
The work included:
✅ Electrical safety improvements
✅ Energy-efficient LED lighting upgrades
✅ Plumbing and water-conservation works
✅ General maintenance and repairs
✅ Sustainable improvements to school facilities
Fiji holds a special place in the Taskforce story. The programme began at Cuvu Primary School in 2009, and 17 years later, the Taskforce returned to undertake its third major community project in Fiji.
The project represented a collective investment of NZD $100,000, made possible through the generosity, skills, and commitment of members, volunteers, suppliers, and supply chain partners. Their contribution continues to keep the spirit of giving alive.
This initiative demonstrates what can be achieved when professional expertise, community leadership and a shared commitment to giving back come together. These volunteers contributed far more than their technical skills, investing their time, energy and goodwill in creating an environment where children can feel safe, supported and inspired to succeed.
On behalf of Reach 4 Your Future Foundation, we extend our sincere appreciation to Laser Group New Zealand, O’Brien Electrical & Plumbing, every volunteer and support team member, the supplier and supply chain partners, Nadi District Primary School, and the Government of Fiji.
A special acknowledgement goes to Ms Lanoma Singh, whose commitment and on-the-ground coordination brought the partners together and helped transform a shared vision into meaningful action.
Taken together, this was more than just upgrading school facilities. We are strengthening communities and creating a better place for Fiji’s children to learn, grow and thrive. 💙
