How good is it to see communities connecting through greenlife? 🌱

Our CEO Craig Taberner recently dropped by the Taylors Lakes Lions Club Community Garden, joining Natalie Hutchins MP, Member for Sydenham, and members of the Taylors Lakes Lions Club to see what's growing.

Now in its second year, the garden gives local students and the wider community a place to get their hands dirty, learn how to grow fresh produce and connect with others.

We were also very happy to add a little more green to the garden, with plugs generously donated by Ball Australia. 🌿

A great local initiative showing just how much can grow when people and plants come together. 💚

A small group of Greenlife Industry Victoria members headed to Pohlmans Wholesale Nursery and Boomaroo Nurseries this week to have a look around.

We saw some of the world’s largest-scale production and most advanced automated seedling facilities.

What does a full day of nursery innovation look like? 🌿

Garden City Plastics’ (gcpaus) 2026 Growing Smarter Together Roadshow is probably pretty close to what you have in mind.

Hosted across Garden City Plastics, Ball Australia and Oasis Horticulture (oasishorticulture), the roadshow brought together growers and industry professionals for a hands-on day exploring practical solutions for nursery production.

Events like these are invaluable in helping our industry continue to learn, innovate and grow together.

🌱 Have you heard about Greenlife Industry Victoria’s Hort Trainers Network?

It was established as a collaborative forum for educators to share industry updates, discuss curriculum and training, explore professional development opportunities, and strengthen advocacy with organisations including the Victorian Skills Authority and the Department of Education.

Recently, horticulture educators from across Victoria came together at Melbourne Polytechnic’s Epping Campus for the latest Hort Trainers Network meeting.

By working together, we’re helping build a more connected, industry-aligned training sector and supporting high-quality horticulture education for the next generation.

Our members enjoyed a fantastic evening at our July Tree & Shrub Growers, hosted at the . An exclusive behind-the-scenes tour with Tim Sansom and Dermot Molloy provided fascinating insights into the expertise and horticultural practices that shape one of the world's most iconic gardens.

We then experienced the magic of , as the gardens were transformed into a stunning display of light, colour and sound.

What makes Chelsea so successful? 🌸

One of the biggest observations from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show wasn't just the gardens - it was the experience.

Every exhibitor invested in creating premium, plant-filled spaces that inspired visitors from the moment they arrived. Sustainability was embedded throughout the event, with show gardens rehomed after the show, while strong partnerships with tourism, sponsors and industry helped maximise Chelsea's impact.

These insights will help inform future conversations as we continue to evolve the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show and support Victoria's greenlife industry.
