Hi everyone 👋!

Let’s get the ball rolling on rostered patrols early!
Comment below any questions.

First of all, if you were a patrolling member but would like to cease patrolling with us this season, please let us know!

10 hours (around 3 morning or afternoon shifts) is our minimum for patrolling members, however if you cannot commit to this, let us know as there may be other opportunities to put in time, help out and get involved.

If you are going to have to miss your rostered shift, please organise a replacement. If this is not possible, contact Airly, Jya or Isaac.

Also, check emails for AGM minutes and our annual report if you’re interested.

Calling our Young Lifesavers (16-25 years old)!
The Positive Mental Health Research Program has begun.
We would love to hear from young adult (16-25 years old) volunteers in life saving organisations. Your work is so important, and we know that you face extraordinary challenges. This research is all about finding out more about the challenges you face, and how to best support your mental health and wellbeing as part of a lifesaving agency.
Here is a link to our short online survey where you can read more about the research, who is involved, and how it aims to benefit life saving agencies and volunteers. Your participation is voluntary and completely confidential.

Mallacoota Surf Life Saving Club (MSLSC) - Nippers ‘Trial’ Expression of Interest

The MSLSC is happy to announce that we are taking expressions of interest for our club and community ‘Trial’ Nippers program. As this is the first year we have run Nippers (in a while), this year will be a trial program with limited numbers, depending on how many Age Managers (adults) and Safety personal (Bronze medallion holders) we can get.

The program is available to children who are 5 years of age by December the 1st. We are planning on running 3 or 4 age groups, potentially running a 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 group. Priority will be given to families who are volunteering and existing club members and also families that can commit to the full program

It is a requirement of the program that Nippers have a parent/guardian present on the beach the entire time. At this stage, we can only have one parent/guardian present at the program, due to restrictions. As part of Life Saving Victoria’s (LSV) policy, all parents are required to be fully vaccinated and have logged their status on LSV’s vaccine gateway, before the start of the program.

The program will run on Sundays from 9 am-10.30 am at Bastion point. The calendar is shaping up as follows:
Sunday 28th
Prerequisite skill assessments (required by all children completing the program) and parent information session
Sunday 4th, 11th, 18th of December
Nippers session 1-3
Sunday 30th January, 6th, 13th of February
Nippers session 4-6

If you are interested, please complete the expression of interest form found here - https://forms.gle/noTHNpgrf9urnqQZA EOI’s will close on Monday the 22nd of November.

From this point we will look at how many supervisors we have and what we can offer, successful families will be contacted with further information around club membership and enrollment.

If you have any questions please contact Simon on [email protected]
