Christie is a 34 year old mother of 3 young children, Nash (6), Georgia (3) and Willem (1), Christie is a wife to Tim, sister to Melissa and Andrew, daughter to Kim, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend to many. In September 2013 Christie was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma, treatment began immediately. Christie underwent chemotherapy, then on 2 January 2014 after severe weakness in her legs Chr
istie was hospitalised. The family were told that the aggressive cancer had spread to her spine. Christie underwent radical chemo and radio treatment, however lost feeling from the waist down and became paralysed. Christie and all of her support team including medical staff and family have fought hard to get on top of the cancer, however due to its aggressive nature the cancer continued to spread in her spine. Since January Christie has remained in hospital, only going home to her family for a few days. Christie has received chemo, radiation and intensive care from the wonderful hospital staff. Christie's sister, Melissa has researched and been in contact not only with doctors treating Christie but doctors in America, exploring the possibility of clinical trials. We set this fund up to create financial assistance during Christie's treatment. Also to create a trust fund for Christie and Tim's beautiful children. We also aim to create awareness within the community about Lymphoma and cancer as a whole. This is a platform to share thoughts, feelings but most importantly advertise the various fundraising events we're organising to raise these much needed funds.
