The 2026 North West All Breeds Winter On Farm Challenge was a great event last week.

We were pleased to see some Clydevale cows in the top 10 for their new owners. Kanbowro Holsteins had Clydevale Migos Quantas VG86 2yo, 9th place Snr 2yo and Clydevale Decipher French GP84, 10th place Snr 2yo.
Gunwilla Park Holsteins had Clydevale Kingpin Pelt VG88 place 5th in the Mature Cow class.

We had a successful competition and ended up winning the breeders herd, Dam's Progeny and Most Successful Exhibitor!

Exciting new calf born today! A Jinx heifer out of Hullabaloo Bolton Sundae EX95 4E. This calf was born at Rowlands Park Holsteins and they have another one due for us too. Thanks to the Wishart family for providing recipients for us! Sundae was taken to Gorbro Holsteins for IVF, we thank them for a successful result! Sundae will be 15 years old this month and also has 2 sexed Hinge pregnancies on the way. Hope everyone is enjoying the Autumn break, we have had over 100 mm in the past 48 hours.

IDW 2026 photos are in and they certainly captured a year we'll never forget!
Thanks to Brad Cullen and the team for more great photos. We only had three entries this year and they all came out looking great. The highlight being Melaleuca Arrow Lautella VG87 taking out Intermediate Champion! Congratulations to Brad and Janelle Somerville for breeding this beautiful cow, she is a dream to work with and is due again in September to Hinge with her 3rd calf. Lautella is owned with Avalon Holsteins.

Clydevale Lambda Velour VG85 placed 7th Jnr 2yo and is an exciting young cow from one of 6 Sidekick heifers we imported from the Doorman daughter of Jacobs Goldwyn Valana EX95 2E.

Clydevale Davinci Ingrid N/C placed 4th in the Milking Yearling at 40 days fresh. Straight from our best line of the Irene family that has been in Australia for 110 years! More details on the photos.

IDW 2026 was a fantastic event and great celebration for our family.
Adrian Dee (Dad) was awarded the Lex Bunn Award by Brian Leslie. Thanks to Brian Leslie for his kind words and to Declan Patten and the IDW team for recognising Dad's lifetime commitment to the dairy Industry. Holsteins have been Dad's passion since he was a teenager and he and Mum have now achieved Double Master Breeder Status with Clydevale Holsteins, Established in 1975. Dad was there to watch the Holstein Milking show and our 3 entries gave us some results to remember!

Thanks also to Kelly for strapping in what was Lautella's first show. Thanks also to Astre Modra, Kendall Modra, Will Dudfield and the rest of the team!

Our other two milkers were in the Wishart Family's Rowlands Park string. Thanks for allowing us to be part of the team and congratulations to Rowlands Park who took out three Honorable Mention Awards for the week! Hannah loved working with the team of Emmalea Wishart, Kaitlyn Wishart, April Wishart and Emily Robins with support from Rick and Tina Wishart and Mark and Mandy Dee. Great work doing night duty all week Mandy!
