Our little people start dance classes today!
Classes are being held at the Macleay Island Community Hall across from the skate park this term.
Flying Foxes 3:00pm-3:30pm
Water Dragons 3:45pm-4:30pm

Dance classes have been fully booked with the exception of two places remaining in our big kids’ Pythons group. I apologise to anyone who missed out this term but never fear! We have been working on a marvellous surprise for you.

Term Four Mixed Martial Arts classes with Jacob Zaki are now open for bookings.
For those of you who don’t know Jacob he is a long term island local with a passion for environmental science, adventure and education. He has worked with island kids coaching soccer, helping to deliver after school care and Beach School, volunteered as a founding member and activity coordinator with Running Wild and is now completing his Bachelor of Education. Jacob has explored multiple forms of Martial Arts and incorporates Qi Gong princples into his daily practice.

This program blends Qi Gong for balance and focus with Muay Thai fundamentals (no contact) to develop strength, confidence and respect inspired by fun animal flows.

Hello and welcome to this group intended for communication with Barefoot Dance families.

I’ve been blown away by everyone’s enthusiasm and support since letting you all know about these classes. Thank you, I’m so looking forward to dancing together and welcome parents to join in any time. I dare you in fact 😎

Logistical adjustments are already being made in preparation for next term. Several families have advised that their children attend Clay Kids on Thursdays so I am making arrangements to change the Pythons group time to Tuesday 3:30pm-4:30pm.

I’m also seriously considering shifting these classes entirely to operate from the Community Hall due to limited space and access hours at the school.

Dance Classes for Island Kids aged 5-11 run by local registered Teacher, Yoga Instructor and Circus Performer Leah Zaki.
Classes warm up with Qi Gong and cross-lateral movement. Choreographies are imbued with AUSLAN and seasonal, local environmental themes.

Sign up for Term Four as we begin preparing for our first ever Christmas Concert.

Tuesdays

- Pythons group aged 9-11 years
3:30pm - 4:30pm

Wednesdays

- Flying Foxes group aged 3-5 years
3:00pm - 3:30pm

- Water Dragons group aged 6-8 years
3:30pm-4:30pm
