After a little setback earlier in the year with our first batch of chicks falling victim to a couple of larger versions of our local reptile population we reset and applied additional layers of protection for batch two. A great hatch out and now the rewards. Tasty fresh eggs from the new Betty’s. 😎

Been working on a little project. What is it?

A frugal version of ollas.

Ollas (pronounced "oy-yas") are ancient, unglazed terracotta pots used as a highly efficient, self-regulating irrigation system for gardens. The technology dates back over 4,000 years and is prized for its ability to save up to 70% of garden water while promoting deep, healthy root growth.
