Hi everyone! This is Tash Tomlinson - Social Media Marketing Person for last weeks workshop program update.

Wearable Art:
This morning we did Wearable Art and I was working on my project today. I have started adding flowers onto my band. My friends are making some really amazing costumes - Daisy is making a creepy doll pin cushion character, Nathan is a heart shaped Mexican wrestler, Melissa is a crocodile and mine is a Flower Light because it has bright lights in it. Miffy is making a giant tomato shaped head! I LOVE THE VIBES that everyone has done in Wearable Art!

For Arts Sake:
Today we were working on colours and brightness. We were making works on paper and we were sticking them together and I had fun making everything and I enjoyed it so much! PINCH AND THE PUNCH for the first day of the month!!! WHITE RABBIT!! Today is a happy day for new beginnings!

Performance in the Gallery:
This is our last day in the gallery. In my performance, Matt and I made a performance inspired by one of the artworks as a flower, our performance was about falling apart. It is great to see everyone, working together in pairs and groups during classes. Special thank you to Artspace for letting us use the space for classes. Stacey clapped us out.

Stretchy Pants:
For the start of today’s class, we looked at last week’s video of our group performance. Then we did the group performance again. One of my parts in the performance for today was to be a butterfly. Then we got in a circle, then each of us had to do our own dance move. Today’s clap out was Kristy.

Roar:
Today in Roar, we did lots of theatre games. The games we played were “Good Morning Stranger”.

Someone in the group is chosen to be the detective and they stand at the other end of the hall and have to guess who said good morning.

The next game was “Pass the Expression”. Players are in a circle and one person passes a dramatic facial expression to their neighbour

The final game was “Yes let's” Someone suggests an action, and everyone responds “Yes let's” while acting that action. My good friend Olivia was clap out for this Friday

🥳✨Crossroad Arts wins a Best in Business award!✨🥳

Crossroad Arts was delighted to be nominated for Heart of Gold Mackay Region Chamber of Commerce award last Friday. We were in great company with other valued and dedicated non-profits in Mackay and we felt honoured and proud to be nominated.

We were so excited when they called our name - it meant a lot to us that our vision of Arts for All is celebrated and honoured by the wider business community. Ambassador Georgia Knoll gave a speech from the heart that really captured the spirit of Crossroad Arts and moved all of us!

Mackay Region Chamber of Commerce has been incredibly supportive of Crossroad Arts and the local business community in our region. A round of applause to all of the nominees and winners - and a huge thanks to Chamber for always encouraging collaboration and celebration of our region's wins! Big love!

Hi everyone, Tash Tomlinson, Social Media Marketing Person for Crossroad Arts.

Wearable Art: 🖌🎨
For my costume, I made more petals, and I cut them all out, then put the leaves on my costume.
Lauren assisted me in cutting the fabric to shape. And Lauren was in charge of the glue gun.

For Art Sake: 🖌🎨
Hannah taught the class about reduction printing. Today I made a foam stamp into a butterfly. For the printing I used a lot of colours, such as Orange, Yellow and of course my favourite colour Purple. Hannah taught us how to properly cut out the stamp for the best results.

Performance in the Gallery: 🌟👏
Today, we were once again in Artspace, and we were looking at the exhibit, Matter of Time. We were looking at all the projects today, I was observing a sculpture and I interpreted that with movement. Georgia was claped us out.

Stretchy pants: 😃😄
For today's class, we did some line dancing, led by Charlee we made whole group dance routine. It WAS A LOT OF FUN. Kristy was clap out for today.

ROAR: 👏🫶🌟
For the warm-up activity this morning we played circle, name and cry. Then after we did another activity called Move around the space and freeze. Then we played one of my favourite activities: look up and DIE, the game is, all players look down and then on the count, all look up if they are looking at everyone else they are out. Another game we played was Mine down the alley. The last game we played that was also one of my favourites was called, What’s that sound. Where we had to guess as a group what the sound was. Michael clapped us out today.

💞 See you all next week 💞
