MADEC is looking forward to joining local families, services and organisations at Party in the Park, a special community event celebrating Child Protection Week and the important role we all play in creating a safer, stronger community for children and young people in Mackay.

It’s a wonderful opportunity for parents and carers to connect with local services, learn more about the support available across our region and enjoy a fun, free day with the kids.

Recently, we came together for a very special milestone, MADEC’s first Annual Employee Awards Night! 🏆✨

It was an incredible evening celebrating and recognising the amazing people who make MADEC what it is. A chance to step away from the day-to-day, come together as one team, celebrate our achievements and acknowledge the dedication, care and commitment shown across our organisation every day.

When many people think about disability, they picture something they can see.

The reality is that many disabilities are invisible.

Conditions such as autism, ADHD, chronic pain, mental health conditions, neurological disorders, hearing loss, and many others may not be immediately obvious, yet they can still significantly impact a person's daily life.

Kindness, patience, and understanding go a long way because we never know what someone else may be experiencing.

Today we came together to celebrate and farewell two very special members of the MADEC family, Jas and Anne. 💙

Between them, they have made an incredible contribution to our organisation, supporting our teams, championing our values and making a lasting difference in the lives of the people and communities we serve.

While we're sad to see them go, we're so grateful for everything they've given to MADEC. We wish them both every success and happiness in the next chapter of their journeys.
