QCWA Mackay Branch – Sharing Care and Comfort 💗

QCWA Mackay Branch was pleased to donate Cuddle Hearts and tote bags to the Mackay Base Hospital Special Care Nursery to support the wonderful work of the nursery team and the families they care for.

💕 What is the Cuddle Heart Project?

Cuddle Hearts are specially made fabric hearts designed to provide comfort to parents and their newborn babies, particularly when babies need extra care in the Special Care Nursery. The hearts can help parents and babies feel connected through the familiar scent of each other, offering a little comfort during what can be an emotional and challenging time.

A big thank you to our QCWA Mackay Branch members who generously give their time, skills and care to make these thoughtful items for local families.

We are proud to support the Mackay Base Hospital Special Care Nursery and help make a difference in our community. 💗

Today, QCWA Mackay Branch held its monthly meeting with a special celebration of the QCWA Product of the Year — the strawberry! 🍓

Members embraced the theme by dressing in strawberry-inspired outfits or wearing red, making for a colourful and fun gathering.

The strawberry theme continued through our delicious morning tea and lunch, featuring beautiful cakes, slices, salads, desserts and plenty of strawberry-inspired treats. 🍰🍓

There were also strawberry-themed prizes to be won, and even our raffle followed the theme!

A wonderful day of friendship, fun, delicious food and celebrating one of our favourite fruits. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day so enjoyable! ❤️🍓

We were also pleased to welcome QCWA Pioneer Division Debbie to our meeting.

Debbie presented Jaime with her President’s badge and Dianne with her Secretary’s badge. Congratulations to Jaime and Dianne on their roles and the important contributions they make to our branch.

Each item was lovingly made with care to provide warmth, comfort and a little extra kindness to patients. ❤️

QCWA Mackay Branch October Monthly Meeting is on this Friday, 16th October 2026 at 43 Gordon Street, Mackay. Meeting starts at 9.30am.

It was a lovely relaxed, chatty morning at QCWA Mackay Branch today. Members and friends did an array of crafts and enjoyed the conversation. We had a visit from the effervescent Tray from the ABC Radio who interviewed some of our ladies for Seniors Month.

Our next Social and Craft Day will be Thursday, 22nd October 2026 at our branch hall, 43 Gordon Street Mackay. 9.30am-11.30am $2.00 entry - includes Morning Tea.
