The rain is reminding us of our local frogs 🐸 🌧️ A good time to share this profile of the locally extinct, but being reintroduced, Green and Golden Bell Frog 💚💛 ⬇️
Following this week’s good news story about the reintroduction program that is bringing back the Green and Golden Bell Frog to the ACT, we’ve put together this species profile with some interesting facts about them.
With a Conservation Status of Vulnerable in the ACT by adopting the Commonwealth status, this species has effectively been Locally Extinct since the mid-1980’s when it was last recorded.
The reintroduction program is working to overcome the Amphibian Chytrid fungus so here’s hoping that science has another win for conservation! The effort made so far is well appreciated…
