Hey BYG!

We’re excited to be starting a Battunga Youth Group Fundraising Committee, giving our young people the opportunity to have a say, get involved and help shape what BYG can do in the future.

Our first fundraising project will be taking part in the Adelaide Hills Mini Makers Market on Saturday October 10th, where BYG will run a stall to raise money towards future activities, excursions and special events.

Our first committee catch-up will be Friday 4 September, straight after BYG, and will run for around 15–30 minutes.

Being part of the committee is a great opportunity for young people to:
💡 Share ideas and have a say in what BYG fundraises for
💰 Learn how to work with a budget and make decisions about how money is spent
📋 Develop planning and organisation skills
🤝 Work as part of a team and take on different responsibilities
🗣️ Build communication, leadership and decision-making skills
🎯 Help plan something from the initial idea through to the finished event
📄 Gain practical experience that can be included on a resume

There will also be opportunities to help with stall preparation on Friday 9 October and market day on Saturday 10 October. More info coming soon...

And this is just the beginning! We’ve got plenty of exciting fundraising ideas to explore in the future, including some larger-scale events, so there will be lots of opportunities for the committee to get creative, take the lead and bring their ideas to life.

We’d love to have as many young people involved as possible and give you a genuine opportunity to have your say, build new skills and help decide what BYG can work towards next. You won’t want to miss out on being part of the team!
