We're kicking off the season with our first biochar production today. We have a good pile of feed stock to sort our way through. Our quenching pump has been tested and is ready for action. Would be great to see you there.

Quorn Quandong Festival - Wow, what a great community weekend event. We had a few of our members attend to assist in a fantastic presentation on Biochar by Quorn local Sharon Taylor. A group of about 50 people attended the talk and following Q&A session. Enriched biochar was available for sale on the day - and sold out!
Much interest was shown in the processes of making biochar, carbon sequestration and the benefits of adding biochar to your soils.

Apologies for the late cancellation of our burn this week, but on arrival at our burn site the wind was very high which causes both uneven flame, excess smoke and a danger to those loading the kiln.
We will attempt to lock in a day next week if better weather prevails. We have a kiln to empty and bag from our previous burn as well as cutting some of our feed stock into manageable sizes.

Just a reminder to those who wish to remain on our membership list, our fees of $20 for this financial year are now overdue, if not already received. Don't forget the benefits of current membership being monthly newsletters, access to discounted prices on biochar and possible loan (subject to training) of a kiln to name a few.
