Our next Macclesfield Bushcare Working Bee will be in the Cemetery Reserve this Sunday.

WHEN: 9am, Sunday 16 August
WHERE: Corner of Magins and Penna Rd.
WHAT: General run through for bulb weeds, bridal creeper, broom and Monadenia.
BRING: Your bucket, secateurs, dabber, gloves, and a knife or screwdriver to dig out the bulb weeds.

All are welcome, no experience necessary, and please join us for a coffee and a chat at the general store afterwards.

Macclesfield Bushcare Group AGM

Wed 26 August, 7.30pm at the Macclesfield Institute.

After a quick AGM, Peter Watton (Trees For Life, Bush For Life) will talk on the post-fire recovery of Scott Creek Conservation Park since the 2021 fire.

Our next Macclesfield Bushcare Working Bee will be in the Stone Reserve this Sunday.

WHEN: 9am, Sunday 19 July
WHERE: Stone Reserve. Car parking is available within the reserve, with the entrance off Davis Road.
WHAT: General run through for weeds in the good bush, including gorse, broom, sparaxis and, if needed, pittosporum.
BRING: Secateurs, gloves, a dabber, and a bucket or bag for the weeds.

All are welcome, no experience necessary, and please join us for a coffee and a chat at the general store afterwards.

We had a great working bee out in the day paddock today with lots of new faces.

With so many hands on deck we made light work of removing a large blackberry bush growing under an old gum!

WHEN: 9am, Sunday 15 March
WHERE: Meet by the entrance on Kingrose Street.
WHAT: Working on a range of weeds including broom, briar rose, prunus and gorse.
BRING: Loppers, dabbers, gloves, etc.

We had a very successful stall at the Strawberry fete with a children’s craft activity making wonderful bush critters.

We’re bringing this month’s working bee at Davenport square forward a week due to the Christmas period.

WHEN: 9am, Sunday 14 December
WHERE: Davenport Square’s native garden by the playground
WHAT: Controlling woody weeds and slashing the grass.
BRING: Gloves, secateurs, dabbers and whipper snippers.
