Young gun Tom Whitty is returning home soon following another huge English summer playing for Bolton Percy Cricket Club in the UK.

Tom’s reputation as a player and person continues to grow within the four walls of our cricket club. He’s one of our brightest young stars following his best-on-ground performance in the 2025/26 DeCoite Shield Grand Final.

Sam Walsh (The Fossil) has announced his retirement from the Lysterfield Cricket Club.

After 26 years, 2,516 runs and countless memories, Sam Walsh has officially called time on an outstanding cricket career with Lysterfield Cricket Club.

Sam started his junior cricket journey with Lysterfield Junior Cricket Club at just eight years of age in 2000, going on to become the junior club’s all-time leading junior run scorer with 2,454 runs.

Across his senior career, Sam finished with 2,516 runs at 33.11, including 5 centuries and 16 half-centuries, with a career-best 105 coming on a scorching hot day at Picketts Reserve.

And fittingly, Sam finished his playing career in style. In his final game for the club late last season, he produced an unbeaten 92 from 151 balls, guiding the 2nd XI over the line against Footballers.

When recently asked about his career highlights, Sam immediately pointed to the 3rd XI Premiership victory over Knox Gardens CC. He still doesn’t agree with Zac Taylor’s decision to win the toss and bowl first — but there was no doubt the victory was made even sweeter by successfully chasing down the total in a Grand Final.

Away from cricket, Sam has also made a name for himself as one of the AFL’s finest goal umpires. Having officiated multiple AFL Grand Finals and been involved in some of the biggest contests in the game over the years.

From an eight-year-old junior in 2000 to a Lysterfield cricket legend — thank you, Sam.

We wish Sam, wife Caitlin and son Mason all the very best for the next chapter. ❤️

Happy Friday to the Beaver Family 🦫

Following thorough negotiation with his advocate, we are incredibly excited to announce that our current 1st XI Vice-Captain Nick Gwynne has recommitted for Season 2026/27.

Nick makes an enormous contribution year-in year-out both on and off the field as one of the competition’s premier all-round players, as well as being a part of the executive committee as our club Secretary.
We are so lucky to have Nick at our club.

We can’t wait to see Gwynnie leading from the front again in season 2026/27.

Welcome back home to our clubs all-time leading wicket-taker, Justin Carland.

After a season away from the club, Juzzy is keen to keep adding to his incredible record of 454 senior wickets for Lysterfield CC.
Juzzy is as brilliant off the field as he is on it, as a regular member on the clubs committee and helping out wherever possible.

The Lysterfield Cricket Club is excited to announce the signing of young gun wicketkeeper batsman Dinusha Peiris 🇱🇰 for season 2026/27.
At just 21 years of age, Dinusha has recently moved out to Australia for study in Mechanical Engineering ⚙️.
Dinusha joins our already young and vibrant squad which he will fit into seamlessly.

The Beaver Family welcomes you with open arms Dinusha.

Welcome home Woofa 🐶!

Another Lysterfield cult figure returns to Lakesfield Reserve in season 2026/27.
Scott “Woofa” Peatling has been a part of the club since arriving as an underage U13 player in 2002, and has more recently been playing in the Leongatha District Cricket Association.
Adding Woofa’s cricketing experience to the current playing group is going to be of great benefit for the club, but his off field presence is also welcomed as one of the clubs all time leading Final Five photo contributors over the years 🍻!

Welcome home to Scott and girlfriend Kimberley, we look forward to having you both involved this year.

Happy Sunday Beaver Family!!

It is with great excitement that we announce the return of one of our most prolific bowlers in the clubs history.
Brad Paull has put pen to paper and committed to the club for season 2026/27.
BP comes back to the homeland at Lakesfield Reserve where it all began for him as a young junior, who then transitioned into the senior club becoming our most successful spin bowler on record.
With over 200 Lysterfield CC First XI wickets to his name, his experience and skill will be a welcome asset to our young and dynamic bowling group in season 2026/27.
The club not only welcomes back Brad, but also welcomes wife Shea and son Austin with open arms and into the ever growing Beaver Family 🫶.

It is with great excitement that we announce Declan Herridge has committed to playing full-time at Lysterfield CC in season 2026/27.
Chasing higher-level cricket at Croydon, Declan also spent the past few season’s playing in our U18 Friday night team, as well as representing the Mid-Week T20 team on multiple occasions. Declan’s commitment to the club spans further than just playing senior cricket, taking on duties as our U18 coach this season as well.
The one thing we know about Deccers, is he brings an infectious, passionate energy to any group that he plays with, which we cannot wait to see once again in season 2026/27!!
