A Volunteers work doesn’t finish straight after the incident, our crew were out to a Structural Fire in Bunyip till 4am Friday morning, but that doesn’t mean that the vehicle is left all muddy, well done to the crew that made our Tanker nice and clean again, and ready to respond to the next incident.

🔥 Planning a burn-off? Register it first. 🔥

If you’re conducting a burn-off, taking a few minutes to register it can make a big difference.

By registering your burn, you help prevent unnecessary call-outs to your local fire brigade. This ensures our volunteers remain available to respond to genuine emergencies when every second counts.

📞 Register your burn immediately by phone: 1800 668 511
🌐 For more information or to register online: http://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/contact/register-your-burn-off

Before lighting up, always check your local municipal regulations to ensure burn-offs are permitted in your area and that you’re complying with all conditions.

Let’s work together to keep our community safe and our emergency services ready when they’re needed most. 🚒

The Longwarry Fire Brigade (CFA) is once again participating in the Good Friday Appeal to raise vital funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH).

Today, Friday, 3 April 2026, marks the 95th anniversary of the Appeal and the 75th year of CFA involvement. You can support the Longwarry team through several channels:

Where to Donate
In-Person (Service Stations): Volunteers are traditionally stationed at the local Longwarry service stations and highway stops to collect "tin rattle" donations.

Online Donations: You can contribute directly via the official Longwarry CFA fundraising page on the Good Friday Appeal website. https://fundraise.goodfridayappeal.com.au/fundraisers/LongwarryDistrictCFA/coll2026

Phone Donations: The Good Friday Appeal phone lines (1300 277 325) are open from 9:00 AM today.

Regional Impact
Regional Victoria is a major contributor to the Appeal, having raised $5.4 million last year alone. In 2026, $3 million of the funds raised will be specifically allocated to support regional healthcare projects, ensuring children in areas like Longwarry have access to high-quality care closer to home.

I'm raising money for a cause close to my heart and would love your support.

Tomorrow, Tuesday 17th February, has been declared a Total Fire Ban for our region.

With the forecast conditions, any fire that starts has the potential to spread quickly and become difficult to control.

🔥 On a Total Fire Ban day:
• No campfires or solid fuel BBQs
• No burning off
• No use of welding, grinding or gas cutting equipment outdoors
• No fireworks
• No lighting of fires in the open air

If you are travelling, please make sure you stay up to date with conditions and warnings via the VicEmergency app. Conditions can change quickly, and it’s important you know the Fire Danger Rating and any warnings in the area you’re visiting.

Let’s all do our part to keep our community safe. If you see smoke or fire, call 000 immediately.

🔥 TOTAL FIRE BAN – TOMORROW 🔥

The Longwarry & District Fire Brigade would like to advise our community that due to extreme heat forecast for tomorrow, a Total Fire Ban has been declared across Victoria.

On a Total Fire Ban day, you CANNOT:
🚫 Light a fire in the open air
🚫 Use solid fuel BBQs (wood or charcoal)
🚫 Light campfires or bonfires
🚫 Use fire pits or incinerators
🚫 Undertake welding, grinding, soldering or oxy cutting outdoors
🚫 Use machinery that may generate sparks (including some farm and garden equipment)
🚫 Burn off rubbish or vegetation
🚫 Use fireworks or flares

Conditions like these mean fires can start easily and spread rapidly. Please plan ahead, stay informed, and check VicEmergency for updates and warnings.

If you see smoke or fire, call 000 immediately.

Let’s all work together to keep our community safe. 💪🚒
