📍 New Location for Our Fire Danger Rating Sign!

​If you’ve driven through the intersection today (Koo Wee Rup/Longwarry-Longwarry/Nar Nar Goon Rd), you might have noticed a welcome change! Our local Fire Danger Rating sign has officially been moved off the fire station wall and is now standing proud right at the intersection.

​We want to extend a massive thank you to the Baw Baw Shire Council for completing this work.

Moving the sign to this high-traffic spot means it’s now front and centre for everyone in our community, making it much easier to check during your daily travels.

​Why this sign is so vital:
​A Daily Status Check: During the hotter months, it shows you at a glance what the potential impact of a bushfire would be if one were to start that day.

​Total Fire Ban Days: It will clearly display when a Total Fire Ban is declared, letting you know when strict outdoor fire restrictions are in place.

​Keeping this information highly visible is a simple but incredibly powerful way to keep our community safe and prepared.

​Next time you drive past, give the dial a glance and make checking it a part of your daily routine. Let's look out for one another and stay fire-ready!

Introducing the Longwarry and District Fire Brigade Management Team (2026–2028)

We had a bi-annual meeting in April, as of today, 1 July, a new Brigade Management Team begins its two-year term leading the Longwarry & District Fire Brigade.

We are excited to introduce the members who will continue supporting our volunteers, strengthening our brigade, and serving the wider community.

Congratulations to the following members who have been elected into their respective roles:

Congratulations to everyone elected. We look forward to working together over the coming two years to continue building a capable, welcoming and community-focused brigade.

We would like to thank the previous Brigade Management Team for all their hard work and dedication.

We would also like to acknowledge the dedication of all our members—both operational and non-operational. A brigade is far more than its management team, and it is the commitment, professionalism and volunteer spirit of every member that enables us to serve our community when needed.

A Volunteers work doesn’t finish straight after the incident, our crew were out to a Structural Fire in Bunyip till 4am Friday morning, but that doesn’t mean that the vehicle is left all muddy, well done to the crew that made our Tanker nice and clean again, and ready to respond to the next incident.

Dont be alarmed training is essential for us to continue building and reflecting on skills to keep our members on top of their game as well as equipment up to scratch for when you need us most

You'll find us training most Tuesday nights as well 😊
