Poultry Club Of Tasmania Established in 1948, the Poultry Club of Tasmania was formed to promote pure bred poultry including bantams and waterfowl.

We are one of the oldest poultry clubs in Tasmania with our roots tracing back to the former Elphin Showgrounds in Launceston. Now located at the showgrounds of the northern midlands township of Longford we are ideally situated to attract poultry fanciers and enthusiasts from across the state. Each year we conduct four poultry club shows and an annual pure bred poultry auction. In recent years we

have upgraded our meeting room, kitchen and exhibition pavilion to a level that is of a national standard. We have a management committee that is a well balanced mix of experience, youth and enthusiasm. Above all we are forward thinking and devoted to promoting poultry within our island state. We cordially invite those interested in pure bred poultry to attend our shows and auction and to become part of Tasmania’s pure bred poultry heritage by joining our membership ranks.

2026 show updates!

Our shows for 2026 will be held at the Deloraine show grounds. Judge for the June Show is Steven Baldock, July is Jack Murphy coming from sunny Queensland!

We have changed our prices for the super show during this high cost of living but the prize money remains the same at Champion Bird of Show winning $300!

$5 a bird or $2 for juniors (16 or under and must bench own fowl)

We kicked off the show calender yesterday with our Young Bird Show. It was a Fabulous day with great atmosphere with 221 entries, 26 exhibitors, 6 being juniors. Mark Robertson did a stella job with his BOS going to a well prepared Indian game bantam pullet exhibited by Justin Grandfield & Res BOS lovely Rhode Island red Pullet exhibited by Steve Baldock.

This Saturday 18th April our "Young Bird Show" kicks off the show calender @ Longford Show Grounds in the Poultry pavillion.

Nice to see some new exhibitors and couple of juniors have entered with a good variety of chickens, guineafowl and ducks on display for our Hobart Judge Mark Roberston.
Public viewing 9am - 1pm approx.
