We may have been small in number but we still enjoyed the warm family feel of our Community BBQ last night. We were joined by some of our wonderful community elders as well some of the very youngest. We raffled off one hell of a meat tray. We ate well, laughed, danced, and the youngins played all night long.Thanks to Jonny for his musical fun and Beaumont Tiles, Galipos Midtown Meats and Mick's Bread Kitchen for your support, but especially to all who joined in despite the wet weather.

Final prep under way. We know its a bit wet, but we are high and dry and we have a Pickleball competition ready to go, if its too wet for bocce. So fear not, come along and join the fun at the Community BBQ, 5pm QCWA Abergowrie/Long Pocket hall

💜 International Women’s Day 2026 💜

Today we celebrate the strength, resilience and heart of the women who hold our rural and regional communities together.

For more than a century, QCWA women have shown what it means to support one another, stand tall in challenging times, and create opportunity for the generations that follow.

On March 8th, we honour the women who came before us, the women leading today, and the young women who will shape tomorrow.
