A huge Thank You to our small but mighty QCWA team who began work before dawn each morning to ensure that the wonderful volunteers of the Townsville City Autosports Club - TCAC and the Ingham Toyota Forest Rally teams, begin the day with a friendly smile and a hearty meal before their big day. The start of the Forest Rally at Cloakey's today. QCWA Abergowrie/Long Pocket will be back before dawn tomorrow to feed them again before they head off on another race tomorrow.

It's all happening at QCWA Abergowrie/Long Pocket today. Rally drivers and crews setting up camp, organising routes and completing all the numerous details that go into the Townsville City Autosports Club - TCAC Forest Rally tomorrow. Head to town for the Rally Cars on Display tonight 5pm - 7pm in the Ingham's Rotary Park. Then tomorrow the rallying begins!

The Townsville City Autosports Club - TCAC Forest Rally participants will be camping at the QCWA Abergowrie/Long Pocket Hall from tomorrow morning 28th Aug to Sunday 30 Aug. Please be aware of our visitors and of the extra activity around the Hall area, including cars and trailers that may be parked on the grassed areas on the sides of the road. The club members love their annual weekend in Long Pocket and rallying along our back roads and we enjoy hosting them.

Community BBQ Cancellation - We are sad to say that QCWA Abergowrie/Long Pocket have had to decide to cancel the August Community BBQ we had planned. Other commitments are taking our time and energy but we hope to be able to host another Community BBQ on November 7th. Hope to see you all there. Watch this space...

We may have been small in number but we still enjoyed the warm family feel of our Community BBQ last night. We were joined by some of our wonderful community elders as well some of the very youngest. We raffled off one hell of a meat tray. We ate well, laughed, danced, and the youngins played all night long.Thanks to Jonny for his musical fun and Beaumont Tiles, Galipos Midtown Meats and Mick's Bread Kitchen for your support, but especially to all who joined in despite the wet weather.
