Let's hope it's never needed, but thanks to a great initiative from Surf Life Saving NSW, we now have a shark bite trauma kit available 24/7 on the downstairs eastern side of the club, next to the publicly accessible AED (near the Lifeguards room).

Uncontrolled bleeding is the leading cause of death in trauma situations. The kit provides essential tools for managing severe bleeding and trauma in emergency scenarios. In it you will find 2 x Tourniquets, a 6 inch Trauma Dressing (with packing gauze), a Trauma Dressing (with packing gauze), Trauma Shears, an Emergency Blanket, 4 Pairs of Nitrile Gloves & a CPR Flow Chart Card.
In an emergency:
• Assess the situation and ensure it is safe to help.
• Check for danger to yourself and others.
• Call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
• Alert people nearby and send for help.
• Only enter the water with a flotation device.
• Never put your own life at risk
Thanks to Surf Life Saving Central Coast and Waicon sheetmetal & Roll-Fab for arranging the install.

Yesterday Eve and Brett Harrison became Australian citizens, marking a significant milestone for two much loved former members of our Club. Our club owes a tremendous debt of gratitude to Brett, one that would be impossible to repay. For many years, Brett served as the manager of the Toowoon Bay Cafe (now Village Kiosk), with his family always ready to lend a hand whenever needed. He was also an active patrolling member. It is worth noting that Toowoon bay SLSC sponsored Brett's entry into permanent residency. We wish them all the best.
