🔥 WHAT A YEAR AT REKON 🔥

As we look back on 2025, our hearts are full. REKON at Wilbur Street Youth Centre continues to be more than a youth centre — it’s a safe place, a family, and a launchpad for brighter futures. And this year, the impact has been incredible 👇

✨ 25,687 Youth Visits across the year — showing consistent, high-frequency engagement.
👥 2,073 Unique Young People Registered & Supported.
🍽 24,000+ Meals Served — tackling food insecurity so no young person goes hungry.

📊 Attendance was strong every term:
• Term 1 – 5,591
• Term 2 – 7,395
• Term 3 – 7,193
• Term 4 – 5,508

But numbers only tell part of the story — impact happens in the hearts and lives of our young people:
🛡 92% feel safe, welcomed, and accepted at the centre
🚀 91% reported increased confidence & motivation for their future
🧠 88% learned new skills like teamwork, leadership & communication
💙 84% said REKON helped them stay out of trouble
🤝 72% keep coming because of friendships & belonging

THIS is what happens when community, consistency and love come together. Young people find hope. They discover purpose. They realise they matter.

To our volunteers, partners, staff, families, local leaders, churches, schools and businesses — THANK YOU. None of this happens without you. Your faithfulness, generosity and heart for young people are changing lives every single day.

“I didn’t just find a barber chair… I found purpose.” – Kanye

At REKON, we’ve seen lives turn around — not through luck, but through love, guidance, and opportunity.

Kanye started as a volunteer, giving free haircuts to youth at our centre. But when life hit hard — with his mum and brother falling seriously ill — he had to step up and provide for his family.

Thanks to the support and industry connections from the REKON team, Kanye landed full-time work in warehousing. Today, he’s providing for his family and still checking in to uplift others at the place that once lifted him.
