Kevin McIntosh – 1 September 1947 to 12 October 2026

Today we farewelled Kevin McIntosh (“Kevie”), a much-loved Life Member of Amputees Queensland and an integral part of our organisation for over 20 years as a Committee Member and Peer Support Volunteer.

Kevie was a true larrikin who loved a laugh, taking the mickey and having the occasional grumble about something he didn’t agree with! 😂

Kevie will always hold a special place in our organisation’s history and in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him. We will remember him with great affection for his humour, his kindness and the many years he devoted to helping shape Amputees Queensland into the organisation it is today.

Our heartfelt condolences go to Kevin’s wife and family, and to everyone who loved him.

Rest in peace, Kevie. 🤍

What a wonderful way to finish off the week and celebrate a very special milestone – our 40th birthday! 🥳🎂

For 40 years, we've been proud to be part of an incredible community, supporting, connecting and empowering people living with limb loss and limb difference. Four decades of friendship, resilience, achievements and unforgettable memories – and what better way to celebrate than by bringing people together, sharing stories, enjoying a few laughs and reflecting on just how far we've come!

A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey over the past 40 years. From our dedicated staff, volunteers and supporters to the amazing people and families who make our community so special – you are the heart of everything we do. Friday's celebrations were a beautiful reminder of the friendships we've made, the challenges we've overcome and the difference we can make together.

A special mention to Aunty Faith from Gunya Meta
for her Acknowledgment of Country and to Allan Churchward one of our founding members! Allan’s legacy lives on today!
