The Loch Resilience Project is a community led effort to co-design a practical plan for energy resilience, sustainability, emergency readiness and long-term wellbeing. Loch Village, a small but vibrant community in South Gippsland, is taking its first steps towards long-term resilience with the launch of the Loch Community Resilience Project. The project aims to address key vulnerabilities in the

region, particularly the impact of unreliable telecommunications and power infrastructure on local residents, businesses, and emergency services. Following the January 2024 power and communication outages, local residents came together to discuss the impact of these disruptions and the need for stronger community resilience. Motivated by these discussions, this project seeks to leverage grants for local energy solutions, reducing reliance on existing systems and establishing a reliable local energy supply and emergency community hub. The project is supported by the Loch Community Development Association (LCDA) and funded by a grant from the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR), and Mycelia Renewables.

It would be good to bring:
• A recent energy bill
• A phone, tablet or laptop

We can set up the SunSPOT solar and battery calculator, using your household details to explore what solar and storage could look like for you.

After the presentation, we’ll also have time for one on one help if you want support using the tool or understanding your results.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
