Australia will conduct a nationwide test of its new emergency warning system, AusAlert, on Monday, 27 July 2026 at 2:00 pm AEST (1:30 pm ACST in SA/NT, 12:00 pm AWST in WA).
Compatible mobile phones, smartwatches, and tablets will vibrate and make a loud siren sound for 10 seconds, overriding silent and Do Not Disturb settings. No action is required as this is only a test ahead of the official October launch.
What to Expect During the TestSound and Display: Phones will emit a 10-second loud alarm and show a pop-up text stating it is a government test.
Settings Override: The alert bypasses silent and Do Not Disturb device configurations.
Safety Precaution: Devices that are completely turned off or placed in aeroplane mode before the test will not sound

On Monday 27 July 2026, a test Critical Alert will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in Australia.The alert will override 'silent' and 'do not disturb' device settings. It will appear like a system notification on screens and make a loud siren sound for 10 seconds.

A little weekend inspiration

Life won’t always go the way you planned. There will be seasons of waiting, moments of heartbreak, unexpected detours, and days when simply getting through feels like a victory.

But don’t let today’s struggle convince you that tomorrow has no hope. Every challenge is shaping your character, every setback is teaching resilience, and every new sunrise is another opportunity to begin again.
