We are excited to announce the launch of our new AASS Feeding Clinic, and we'd love you to join us to celebrate!

Our Feeding Clinic is led by experienced Speech Pathologists who are passionate about helping children and adults experiencing feeding and swallowing difficulties. Whether it's fussy or selective eating, food aversions, sensory challenges around mealtimes or swallowing concerns, our team is here to provide practical, individualised support.

Nick is an occupational therapist working with school-aged children, adolescents, and selected adults, with a primary focus on supporting young people with ADHD and autism. His work centres on executive functioning and school participation, particularly for students experiencing organisational and workload challenges, and helping young people develop practical strategies to manage the increasing demands of upper primary and high school.

Nick has a particular interest in supporting students with organisation, task initiation, emotional regulation, and exam access needs, including NESA accommodations where appropriate.

Alongside therapy, Nick completes Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA), particularly where participants are able to engage in collaborative, goal-directed assessment to support independence and community participation.

Nick draws on a neuro-affirmative and evidence-informed approach and has additional training in the Allen Cognitive Disability Model and the Vona du Toit Model of Creative Ability. His practice emphasises structured, practical intervention that supports meaningful participation at home, school, in the community, and in vocational settings where appropriate.

📣 Our First Shift Program has just opened up.

The First Shift Program is a hands-on program is designed for young adults aged 16+ who are in mainstream schooling looking to build confidence and develop skills in a real workplace setting with real customers.

Participants will gain hands-on workplace experience while building confidence through real customer interactions, teamwork and communication. They’ll develop practical skills including using a Point of Sale (POS) system, operating a cash register and EFTPOS machine, preparing customer orders and learning barista skills in a real workplace environment.

We are excited to announce the launch of our new Feeding Clinic at AASS House.

The Feeding Clinic provides specialised assessment and support for children, adolescents and adults who experience difficulties with eating, drinking or swallowing.

Feeding difficulties can impact many areas of everyday life, including mealtimes, nutrition, safety and family routines. Our experienced Speech Pathologists provide comprehensive assessments, practical advice and personalised recommendations to help families and individuals better understand and manage their feeding and swallowing needs.

The clinic offers assessment in both the clinic setting and, where appropriate, natural environments such as home, school or preschool. Each assessment includes a detailed written report and practical recommendations tailored to the individual’s needs.

The launch of this new service will improve access to specialised feeding and swallowing support for families and individuals in our local community, providing timely, evidence-based care close to home.
