Lithgow Girl Guides wouldn’t be the same without our amazing Leader, Junior Leaders and parent helpers! Thank you for everything you do🎉😊☘️

To our incredible Volunteers… Thank you! 💙

Thank you for the countless hours, the energy, the patience, the encouragement, and the care you give to girls and young women across our communities.

Thank you for creating spaces where girls feel supported to try new things, speak up, challenge themselves, and grow into confident leaders.

The impact you make is seen in every friendship formed, every challenge overcome, and every girl who leaves Guides believing in herself a little more than before. 🫶

This week, and every week, we celebrate you and everything you make possible.

ANZAC Day

Lithgow Girl Guides showed their respect by attending both the Dawn Service and the ANZAC march. BRAVO to Tori and Annabella for leading the Kings Prayer, and to all the girls that attended each service.

International Women’s Day 💜

At Girl Guides NSW, ACT & NT, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible women who inspire, empower and step up every single day.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme, Balance the Scales, reminds us that while progress has been made, many women and girls still face barriers that stand in the way of true equality. Creating a fairer world means continuing to challenge those barriers and supporting the next generation to lead with confidence.

Today, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to the amazing Girl Guide Leaders and Volunteers. Week after week, you give your time, share your knowledge and champion girls to be brave, curious and strong. Because of you, girls grow up knowing their voices matter and that they can shape their own future.

Together, let’s keep working to balance the scales. ⚖️💜

What did our Guides get up to this week?

Our Junior Guides and Guides challenged themselves to put up a tent they had never done before! With lots of laughs and helpful guidance from the leaders the girls assembled the tent, but what goes up must come down! After admiring their masterpiece the girls pulled the tent down. Now the hardest part...packing it away exactly how they pulled it out.

What did our Guides get up to this week?

Our Junior Guides and Guides learned all about Thinking Day and participated in activities to earn their Thinking Day Badge!

What is Thinking Day? Thinking Day is celebrated on the 22nd of February and is a day for all Girl Guides, and Scouts come together to think about each other and issues affecting our world. This year's theme is Friendship. We celebrate Thinking Day on this date as it marks the joint birthday of Lord Baden-Powell and his wife Olave Baden-Powell.

The first activity was compliment tag where one Guide is “in”. When they tag another guide, everyone had to freeze in place! The guide who was “in” gives the tagged guide a kind compliment. It was great to spread so much positivity at the start of the meeting!

Next up was a game of would you rather, answering different friendship themed questions. The girls had fun learning new things about each other and discovering who they agreed with and didn’t.

To wrap up the night, the Guide put their teamwork skills to the test by trying to pick up different items using only one finger each. They learned that some objects could by lifted individually, but everything was much easier (and more fun) when they work together.

What did our Guides get up to this week?

Our Junior Guides and Guides tested out their cooking abilities by making Pancake! They created their batter from scratch and had fun experimenting with food colouring, and sprinkles.

All the Guides learned how to safety light a butane stove and flip pancakes like a pro!

Everyone's favourite part of the night was loading their pancakes up with lots delicious topping!
