Light is not only found in the rising of the sun, you know.
It is not only found in the heart of the stars,
or the embers of the fire,
or the flame of the candle...
It is found in you too,
and you don't even realise it.
You carry it like keys in your pocket: barely aware that you're doing so,
and mostly oblivious to the glow that trails behind you wherever you go.
It flickers and flames, every time you smile, or spread kindness, or practice patience.
It isn't loud, your light. But it doesn't need to be.
The beauty of the sunrise is not in the noise it makes,
and the stars do not enchant us with a song.
But with the way they glow.
And with the way that makes us feel.
As if we can shine too.
The beautiful thing about light you see, is that it isn't
extinguished or
lessened or
starved
when we share it.
Like one match igniting another, we simply create more light.
Yes, when we share our light - even without knowing -
ours grows,
thrives,
and shines brighter than ever.
So never underestimate that light you carry; and keep shining.
Because if there was ever an antidote to the darkness in the world...
Let it be light.
