Prepare your house:
Prepare your house to make it safer for bush fire:
-Trim (vegetation around house and sheds)
-Mow (keep grass short around your home)
-Remove (doormats, wood piles, mulch, and leaves around your home)
-Clear (guttering and roofs of your home and sheds)
-Prepare (hoses, pumps, water sources)
A well prepared home is safer and easier to defend from fire.

Time to assess and plan
Bush fire risk seems remote, with some recent rain. But the wet promotes heavy vegetation growth, and 6 – 8 weeks of dry weather could convert this to a very high fire danger.
Now is the time to look at the bush fire bush fire risk for you and your family, and things you can do to reduce it. Do it while it’s safe, it’s too late when the season changes and the danger arrives!
Start your planning for the bush fire period: a Bushfire Survival Plan, Farm Fire Plan, and know the phone apps and Bushfire Danger Ratings that will help keep you safe.
