Around 8:30am on Thursday 3 September, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance on an urgent inter-hospital transfer from the Lismore Base Hospital to the Mater Hospital, Newcastle.

A male in his 40's, suffering a serious medical condition, was stabilised by hospital staff and the NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic and the NSW Health doctor from the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to Newcastle.

Around 1:30am Wednesday 2 September the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance on an urgent inter-hospital transfer from Casino Memorial Hospital to Gold Coast University Hospital. A man in his 50s, suffering a serious medical condition, was stabilised by hospital staff and the NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic and the NSW Health doctor from the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to Gold Coast.

Around 11.30am, on Monday 31 August, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a motorcycle accident on the Billyrimba Trail, southeast of Tenterfield. A man in his 50s was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team for pelvic injuries before being airlifted to Lismore Base Hospital.

Around 9.30am, on Sunday 30 August, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a motor vehicle accident at Coraki, south of Lismore. A girl in her teens was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team for multiple injuries and fractures before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital. A boy in his teens was treated by paramedics and transported by road ambulance to Lismore Base Hospital.

Around 2pm Saturday 29 August, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to Tenterfield. A woman in her 20s sustained suspected spinal injuries whilst competing in a motorsport event. The patient was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital.

A special thanks to the entire team at the Lismore Outdoor Adventure plus Home & Lifestyle Expo for making us a charity partner of their first event held last weekend at the Lismore Showgrounds. With thanks also to our incredible volunteers, we had a raffle ticket stand inside the event and operated the main carpark where people kindly donated $5 to park. In total we fundraised over $7,400 to help save lives throughout the Northern Rivers. Our sincere appreciation goes out to everyone who helped to make this possible!
