💜 Today on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, achievements, and impact of women everywhere.

In recognition of this special day, we'd like to honour the life and legacy of Dr Vera Scantlebury Brown OBE - a remarkable doctor whose work transformed care for women, infants, and young children across Victoria.

Born in Linton in 1889, Vera dedicated her life to improving family health. After serving in WWI, she became a driving force behind modern maternal and child health services.

A true pioneer, her vision helped shape the child and maternal health system we rely on today.

Today, we celebrate her and women everywhere. You can visit Vera's sculpture in the Avenue of Honour in Linton.

Open Day Sunday November 9th
9 am to 12 pm.

Our Resource Centre at 69 Sussex St will be open on the day of the Town Wide
Garage Sale on 9 November, but not at
the usual time of 2-5pm. Instead we will
be open from 9 am till 12 pm.

So after you’ve got your bargains from
the many stalls around town, why not
pop in to see us and have a chat and a
look at our displays.

To all the new folks in town who might
not know who we are, you are very
welcome to come in and find out what
we do. Maybe you’d like to join up and
be part of preserving and promoting
Linton’s history? Or tell us some of your
Linton family history and memories? Or
buy one of our award-winning
publications?

We look forward to seeing you on the
day. But otherwise our next Open Day
will be on 14 December at the usual
time, 2-5pm

Membership renewals are now due.
Call in to renew your membership for 2025/26.
Not a member yet? Ask our volunteers how to join for only $28!
