Big news for the sector this year 💙

Our Ways – Strong Ways – Our Voices: National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Plan to End Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence 2026–2036 is Australia's first ever stand-alone national plan dedicated to ending violence against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children.

Developed in true partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations and individuals, the Plan sits alongside the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children — recognising that real, lasting change has to be community-led, culturally grounded, and shaped by those with lived experience.

At Grace & Grit, we know that "one size fits all" doesn't work in this space. Plans like this one matter because they centre self-determination, healing, and the wisdom that communities have been holding for generations.

We’re new and we are building a movement… thanks for joining us!!

We are offering training, research, policy work, one on ones, community of practices.. really anything that changes and supports your practice.

If you have ever sat in a multi-agency meeting and felt like everyone was describing a different family, you are not imagining it.

One professional is talking about parenting capacity. Another is focused on school attendance. Someone else is discussing housing concerns or mental health presentation.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator’s pattern of coercive control continues shaping the family’s daily life underneath all of it, and the survivor is often left trying to hold the pieces together across systems.

Real collaboration is not just about getting everyone in the same room. It is about using the same lens to understand what is happening to the family.

When professionals across child protection, housing, education, health, and courts share a domestic abuse–informed framework, things start to shift. Patterns become clearer. Survivor protective efforts become more visible. Responses become more aligned and less fragmented for families.

For many organisations, Safe & Together Model Core Training is where that shared language and practice framework begins.

🔥 The dog is walked (mostly)

Calm on the surface. Paddling like absolute legends underneath.

That's Grace & Grit right now. 😍

We're building programs, writing submissions, developing websites, chasing grant applications, and doing all the behind-the-scenes work that goes into creating something meaningful — and in between all of that, we're still showing up to our day jobs, our Tasmanian Online Lions Club commitments, and the rest of life too! 😄

Because that's who we are — two people who genuinely care about this work, doing it alongside everything else that makes us us.

It's busy. It's exciting. It's occasionally chaotic. And we wouldn't have it any other way.
