How to snag your 2023 Christmas tree?

Here's everything you need to know!

Clarence Sea Scouts and Richmond Christmas Tree Farm are teaming up for a pop-up Christmas tree shop.

WHERE
Lindisfarne North Primary School car park

WHEN
11.30am – 2pm on Saturday 2nd December
11.30am – 2pm on Sunday 3rd December

PLEASE NOTE
🌲 The Pop-Up Shop is one weekend only
🌲 We are not selling trees at the farm this year
🌲 If the weather is wild (scorching or pouring) we’ll postpone until the next weekend
🌲 We’re open until stocks last each day – we’ll close the pop-up shop early if we run out of trees

WHAT TO BRING
🎅 Your bank card – we’ll have EFTPOS machines on the go. No cash this year.
🎅 Something to strap your tree down if needed
🎅 An old sheet or tarp to protect your car from pine needles and sap
🎅 Christmas spirit / dress-ups for a photo at the ‘Elfie Spot

ARE THERE TICKETS THIS YEAR?
We will not be offering tickets this year – it will be first in best dressed.
No priority will be given to previous ticket holders.

HOW IT'LL WORK
🌲 Volunteers will direct you to park your car and/or trailer
🌲 There'll be lots of cut trees in various sizes to choose from
🌲 Next, there’ll be a check-out area, where we’ll also give you tree care instructions
🌲 When you get home be ready to cut a couple of centimeters off the bottom of your tree and 📣 📣 plonk it straight in water 📣 📣 when you get home. Your tree will have been cut a few hours beforehand and getting thirsty.

PRICES
Trees will be $10 per foot, starting at $40 for a tree that is up to 4 feet tall.

0 - 4ft tree is $40
4ft - 5ft tree is $50
5ft - 6ft tree is $60
6ft - 7ft tree is $70
7ft - 8ft tree is $80.. and so on.

We'll have our measuring sticks there to help us measure the trees.

IT'S A FUNDRAISER
Profits from this year’s sales will be donated to Clarence Sea Scout group, which includes Joeys, Cubs and Scouts. Their goal is to purchase some new equipment and put some money towards building a shed to keep their boats and gear in good nick.

TREE STANDS?
No tree stands will be available – we will have instructions for how to care for your tree at the pop-up shop.

What a Fun Filled Joey Camp we had on the weekend... investing our newest Joey… some First Aid, Camp Cooking, Games, Spot lighting and a River Swim. Hope everyone enjoys their break. See you all on the 20th March.

Hi All,

Joey Scouts will be meeting tomorrow night (20/2/23) at 5pm for a 5.15pm start at the Risdon Brook Dam. There will also be a BBQ following the walk.

Please note that the weather forecast for tomorrow is: Max 20 degrees, with a high chance of showers likely around the afternoon. And a UV index of 8.

Joeys will need to bring a small pack with them. Which should contain;
- A Drink Bottle
- Small First Aid Kit
- Sunscreen / Hat
- jacket / Rain Jacket
- Snack
- Compass for those that have them

Please wear your uniforms if you have them. Along with sturdy shoes.

A Reminder to McKenzie and Floyd as per Tassie Devils previous email you will be completing a lead during this walk.

Please meet in the car park at Risdon Dam at 5pm. All leaders will be present.

Hello All,

I hope the you’ve all had a lovely safe and relaxing school holidays? And those that attended camp enjoyed it?

Just a reminder that Joey’s will commence again THIS coming Monday Feb 6th a little bit later than normal at 6pm as it is a joint night with the cubs. It will finish at 7.30pm but Joey’s May leave early if this is required.

We will meet at the hall at 6.00pm

Hope to see everyone there and some new faces also.

Last Term the Joey’s were given a list of jobs that they could do at home to earn some pocket money… over the term their jobs were done… Together they raised $225.50 for the Christmas Giving Tree….

And off on our shopping expedition we went tonight…

With All 3 patrols shopping and each patrols buying Christmas gifts for A Girl , A Boy and a Teenager….

We also presented Sofia with a special scouting necker (Scarf) and some badges that she will take home with her back to Chile 🇨🇱…. We loved having you around on some of our scouting adventures… and hope you enjoyed your very first camp in Australia.

To our Joey’s and their families who without them this would have been impossible. All our Joey’s should be very proud of yourselves.

What a Jam packed weekend the Joey scouts had on their camp… there was pitching tents, making a hammock, fossicking by the river, seeing where milk comes from and some getting covered in milk straight from the cow… before cuddles with the ducklings and baby chickens, then to the devil show.. Off to play in Bubbles then watch the Christmas pageant pass through before the Joeys cooked everyone Dinner and then settled by the fire and cooked S’mores…

Safe to say we are all exhausted… but we all had an Amazing Weekend 😊🏕

Hello All, from the T20 Cricket World Cup… thought I’d post a video from the Sri Lankan supporters that are here this afternoon…. (I’m here working)

Also just a reminder that we are at ANZAC Park tomorrow night meeting outside (tennis club/motor yacht club end) and will go in to ANZAC park together. Please ensure your Joey has their bag with a drink bottle, sun hat, rain coat, small first aid kit ect…
