Calling all Castleconnell Community, Sports and Social Groups

Come and see what your local community, sports and social groups are up to is the key message going out to all residents in Castleconnell, Ahane and Montpelier.

A Community Groups Expo will take place on Sunday 6th October in Castleconnell Parish Hall from 12 noon until 2pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for the groups in the parish of Castleconnell, Ahane and Montpelier to showcase all the great work they do and inform the local community of the extensive and varied voluntary activities each group or club does on your behalf.

Castleconnell is a strong, growing and vibrant community, with a wide range of activities and groups operating across the parish that enrich people’s lives and promotes a healthy culture of engagement and belonging.

The Castleconnell Community Expo 2024 is a community event, hosted with the support of a number of local organisations including the Castleconnell Action Network, ACM Community Centre, Castleconnell Parish Hall Team, Love Castleconnell and Ballyhoura Development. We are looking forward to the event where the parish will have its many local groups advertising and displaying their activities; providing both existing and new residents information about what’s going on in the area, and the opportunity to engage and participate.

The key themes for the Expo are of connection and participation.

Dear all,

As you know over the last few months members of the communities of Ahane, Castleconnell and Montpelier have gathered in the Parish Hall in Castleconnell to review the themes and actions laid out in the ACM Community Plan 2019 - 2023.

There were great discussions and a lot of exciting and creative suggestions as well as recognition of progress made, and actions delivered despite the challenges since the plan was published. Attached is a document showing the original action plan and the suggestions and revisions noted from the two community meetings. Thank you to everyone who took part and made such a great contribution to this process.

The actions, suggestions and ideas noted in the two meetings have been edited, de-duplicated, moved into the appropriate themes, and drafted into working versions and we would now like your help in defining which of these are key and which you consider to be the priority moving forwards. In order to try and achieve this in the simplest possible manner, a questionnaire where you can rank each theme by priority is available at this link: https://forms.office.com/e/9HZxAXVVzA or by scanning the QR Code below. This questionnaire will by available until 10pm on Sunday the 8th of September, if you could take some time to answer it, and to share if with other residents of Ahane, Castleconnell and Montpelier that would be much appreciated.
