Lightning Ridge Rural Fire Brigade

Members of Lightning Ridge HQ Rural Fire Brigade are all volunteers.

We attend to grass and bush fires, motor vehicle accidents, structure fires & machinery fires across Walgett shire as well as providing assistance to FRNSW within the town limits.

Post-Season Brigade Representative Meetings

Captains, Field Officers and Group Officers are invited to attend the upcoming Brigade Representative Meetings. Please make a note in your diaries. Official invitations and draft agendas will be posted next week.

If you are unable to attend the meeting scheduled for your District, you are welcome to attend one in an adjoining district.

TOTAL FIRE BAN for Monday 7 October for Walgett Local Government Area

Please ensure no fires are lit and any current fires are extinguished by midnight tonight

TOTAL FIRE BAN
Today 5th September for the Walgett / Lightning Ridge area, due to increased temperatures and winds forecast. No fires are to be lit and current fires extinguished or patrolled throughout by the land owner to prevent escapes.

Permits are no longer required. Notification is required all year to Fire Control and Neighbour s. To notify call 02 68224422 during business hours 9am - 4pm. Have a safe Easter!
