Reminder of Save Carnarvon Golf Club Rally
Tuesday morning 8am
Macquarie Street Sydney at the front of NSW Parliament.
Let the NSW Government know we remain completely opposed to turning Carnavon Golf Course into a cemetery and that this land should be for the living! NSW Labor Cumberland City Council

The government has not yet made a final decision about Carnarvon. With the State Election coming up in March next year, it is important that we have as many people as possible attend the Parliament Pink Army Rally on Wednesday, 23 September.

As the rally is being held on a Wednesday, when the men have no competition, we would especially encourage all our husbands and male members to come along and show their support.

Having a strong turnout, including many of our male members, will show the government that we are united and continue to fight to save Carnarvon Golf Course.

For those who have not participated in a rally before, here are the meeting details:

Residents surrounding Carnarvon Golf Course claim their homes have depreciated by hundreds of thousands of dollars.

🚨 The double standard is hard to ignore.

For months, our community has fought to save Carnarvon Golf Club because of its importance as valuable green space.

Now, Metropolitan Memorial Parks is inviting the public to Rookwood Heritage Day—a free family event featuring:

• Live music
• Community and industry stalls
• Trackless train rides
• Guided heritage walks
• Behind-the-scenes tours of chapels and crematoria

It's promoted as "a unique day out for families."

If large community events like these are considered appropriate in a cemetery, then why was preserving Carnarvon Golf Club's open green space not given the same consideration?

This isn't about opposing Heritage Day or the history of Rookwood. It's about asking for consistency in the decisions being made and the reasons being given.

Our community is fighting to protect Carnarvon Golf Club because green space matters. We believe those same principles should apply fairly and transparently.
