πŸšπŸ’™ ONE VAN. MANY JOURNEYS. A STRONGER COMMUNITY! πŸ’™πŸš

We are incredibly proud and excited to share the successful delivery of our Community Building Partnership 2025 – CBP25: β€œExpanding Community Access: Urgent Vehicle Purchase for Somali and CALD Youth Inclusion.”

The Somali Australian Community Association SACA- NSW extends our heartfelt thanks to the NSW Government, and in particular The Hon. Ms Lynda Voltz MP , Member for Auburn, for the generous support that made the purchase of our $46,000 12-Seater Toyota Hiace possible. πŸ™πŸ’™

This vehicle is much more than a bus β€” it is a vehicle for opportunity! 🌟

It will help disadvantaged Somali and CALD young people access:
πŸ“š Educational programs
⚽ Sports and recreational activities
🀝 Community workshops & events
🌍 Cultural programs
🌟 Youth leadership initiatives

By removing transport barriers, we are creating greater opportunities for young people to participate, connect, learn and thrive.

🚐 More access. More opportunities. More connection. More inclusion.

This is an investment in our young people and in the future of our community.

Thank you, NSW Government and Hon. Lynda Voltz MP, for believing in our community and helping us drive inclusion forward! πŸ’™πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

πŸŽ‰πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡Έ South Sudan Independence Day Celebration πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΈπŸŽ‰

Last Saturday, our community partner, the South Sudanese Community and Youth Association of NSW, hosted a wonderful community celebration marking the 15th Anniversary of South Sudan’s Independence.

While members of our Somali Australian Community Association SACA- NSW Committee were unable to attend, our community was proudly represented by Br. Abdullahi Mohamed Garfiiq from Zimoney, who delivered a beautiful speech on behalf of the Somali community and conveyed our warm congratulations and best wishes to our South Sudanese brothers and sisters.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Abaker and his dedicated team at SSCYA for the invitation and for organising such a successful and vibrant event that brought communities together in the spirit of unity, culture, and friendship.

Congratulations to the people of South Sudan on celebrating 15 years of independence. We wish the South Sudanese communities around the world continued peace, prosperity, and success for generations to come.

πŸ“šπŸŒŸ Successful Book Launch of Learn Somali with Little Sara πŸŒŸπŸ“š

Yesterday, families, children, and community members came together at Isra Academy in Auburn to celebrate the successful launch of Learn Somali with Little Sara, a wonderful new children's book by author Kief Mohamed.

The event provided a fantastic opportunity for young people and parents to engage with the Somali language in a fun, interactive, and culturally meaningful way.

Through colourful illustrations and easy-to-follow bilingual text, the book encourages children to strengthen their language skills while developing a deeper connection to their Somali heritage and identity.

Attendees enjoyed an inspiring presentation from the author, learned about the importance of preserving community languages, and had the opportunity to purchase copies of the book for their families. The event also created a welcoming space for community members to connect, share experiences, and celebrate the richness of Somali culture.

We thank Kief Mohamed, Isra Academy, volunteers, families, and all community members who attended and supported this special occasion. Your participation helped make the launch a memorable success.

Together, we continue to promote literacy, cultural pride, and language preservation for future generations.
