NARC (Northern Area Rover Crew) is a Launceston based Crew and we run weekly activities, meeting on Tuesday nights usually between 7 and 10pm. We also have many weekends away, these can include participating in state Rover and Scouting events, or crew weekends away camping and doing activities in various parts of the state. Our crew has a very active program and we enjoy getting out and doing diff
erent activities. Some activities we do from week-to-week include; trivia, laser tag, chalk-chases, blood donating, climbing and abseiling at locations around Launceston, water skiing, team building skills and challenges, workshops that include guest speakers, pizza and pub nights, movie nights, the list is endless. Weekend activities for the crew are based strongly around the Car Villa Hut we have at Ben Lomond. Carr Villa is hired out to Scouts, schools, community groups and members of the public. It is a perfect spot to be based when walking, skiing, or doing activities in the Ben Lomond National Park. The Crew has many working bees at the hut throughout the year which are great fun and is always followed by a few beers in a good social atmosphere at the hut. Other weekend activities include; walking trips, rafting trips, 4WD weekends and anything you can think of we love to get in and have a go. NARC welcomes all new faces for people age 17-26 who want to meet some new people, have fun, and provide service to Scouting and the wider community. The Crew uses a text message contact system where we send out a weekly message letting people know what is going on.
