A Typical Day at the CFLC ❤️

Today, we have the pleasure of welcoming ECIS staff, who are here supporting the CFLC and our community. Our wonderful volunteer, Sandy, has been cooking up a storm in the kitchen, preparing delicious food for everyone to enjoy.

Today is also a bittersweet day as we say goodbye to our Child Psychologist, Sarah, who is taking some leave and spending her last day with us at the Ravenswood CFLC. Sarah has been a valued member of our team, and we thank her for the care, support, and guidance she has provided to our children and families. We wish her all the very best.

Of course, none of what we do would be possible without our amazing Centre Leader, Education Officer, Community Inclusion Worker, and Centre Assistants, who work tirelessly every day to create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive environment for our community.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and partners working together to support the children and families who walk through our doors. Thank you all for making the CFLC such a special place. 🌟💛

What a welcome to term 4 we had in our Little Leaners session today!

Today was all about the garden with the excitement of a snail being found by one of our Little Learners in Term 3.

We made rolled snail shaped sandwiches, played garden eye spy, explored our senses in the clay, painted on rocks with our friend 'Caron' and enjoyed planting our own plants to take home. We were busy little bees! Thanks for joining us.

We had a wonderful time on our excursion to George Town. We enjoyed a play at the Regent Street Park, a Bbq lunch and then a visit to the George Town CFLC. It was lovely to see Donna and the team and have a play in their beautiful space, thanks for having us. To those who joined us, you were delightful and we had a great day! 😍

Do you have a child starting Kindergarten next year?

It's a good time to start preparing them for their transition to school. It's never too early!

Here are some tips:
🎒 Attend Launching into Learning or Pre-Kindergarten at your local school this Term to meet other children and get to know the classroom.
🎒 Play at the school playground on the weekend.
🎒 Take regular walks past the school to help them learn the way.
🎒 Practice opening their lunchbox, drink bottle and school bag.
🎒 Talk about what they might do in Kinder.

On Tuesday we held a sibling paint session "From White to Bright". It was a wonderful opportunity for children and parents to connect, create and explore together. By experimenting with paint on a variety of surfaces, including their own bodies, children were able to engage their senses, express themselves freely and explore their creativity in a fun, relaxed and inclusive environment. The experience encouraged children to make their own choices, experiment with colours and textures, develop their fine motor skills and build confidence through hands-on play.

Having parents participate alongside their children supported positive relationships, strengthened connections between families and our learning community, and created opportunities for shared enjoyment and discovery. It was magical experience for everyone involved! 🥰
