The Clifford Craig Health Foundation was established in 1992 by the local community with the founding vision to improve health outcomes for the region.

Based at Launceston General Hospital, the foundation has since developed into a vibrant organisation, which plays a vital role in facilitating quality medical research into the health issues that affect the people within our community. Most importantly, our program is designed to fund medical research that will help attract researchers, higher degree students, and specialist doctors and physicians to work in our region. Since its inception, the Clifford Craig Foundation has built a quality research centre at the LGH and has committed to provide in excess of $4 million in funding for over 100 worthwhile medical research projects. Our dedicated research team have established a reputation for relevant, practical and innovative research which has truly improved medical understanding and better treatments for many serious illnesses,

We have demonstrated that we can make significant contributions to medical knowledge and with continued community support we can do much more.

SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR NORTH WEST GIVING DAY! On Thursday 29 October, we're rallying the North West community to raise funds for the inaugural North West Regional Hospital Giving Day, supporting patient care projects and equipment.

While we would love you to donate, we would also like to your valuable time.

Volunteers are being asked to do a two shift or longer at a donation station. Ideally, we are seeking people between 9 am and 3 pm but would be happy if some could work later.

All we are asking you to do is engage with staff and visitors and encourage them to donate. And we will also have a t-shirt for you to wear on the day.

💙 North West, let's come together for your hospital!

On Thursday, 29 October, join us for the inaugural North West Regional Hospital Giving Day!

For 12 hours, we're rallying our community to raise funds for vital equipment, resources and initiatives that enhance patient care and aren't funded by government.

These projects are identified by local healthcare staff to help improve the care, comfort and experience of patients at our hospital.

💙 The best part? Your donation will be DOUBLED! Thanks to our generous matched donor partners, every dollar donated will be matched dollar-for-dollar while matching funds last.

Together, we can make twice the difference for patients, families and our North West community.

For more than 15 years the Friday Fun Day Craft group at Wynyard has been meeting. During that time, they’ve produced some amazing pieces of craft, including quilts and knitted items. 🙌

But is also a group which has a heart for its community. 💙

The 10 members, who meet at the office of Murchison MLC Ruth Forrest, make a weekly contribution, of which half is donated annually to a charity working for the betterment of the region.

And this year, we’re delighted to be the recipients of their very generous donation, which will go towards supporting medical research and enhanced patient care at our North West hospitals.

It was fantastic to have the opportunity to meet them and share our vision for the North West.

🏇 A lovely day out. A lasting difference close to home.

For many years now, our Friends of Clifford Craig Melbourne Cup Luncheon has brought together good company, delicious food and race-day fun, with a purpose that lasts well beyond the finish line.

Each year, this event raises close to $10,000 to support local medical research and enhance the care of patients at the Launceston General Hospital.

That’s around a quarter of the funds our dedicated Friends volunteers work tirelessly to raise throughout the year! We are so grateful for their support!

When you join us, you’re helping turn their hard work into better care for our community. And of course, you're also helping to build the skills of our wonderful local hospitality students.

So, if you can, gather your friends and join us on Tuesday 3 November at TasTAFE’s Drysdale Restaurant.
