Black radish. Not a truffle, but it's giving main character energy for winter veg (even though Rhys used a great summer example, we forgive him).

Most people would walk straight past this one, fair enough, it doesn't exactly announce itself. But if you're after something different to bring to the table this week, this is it. Has a bit of a kick to it, and honestly looks incredible once it's prepped, you'll want to see this one before you decide to skip it.

Go find it with Wouter this week.

Maybe you're vegetarian. Maybe you're not. Maybe your house is a bit of both, and that's exactly what this dinner is built for.

Broccoli chilli pasta, three ingredients, one pan, done in the time it takes to boil water.

Feeding a mixed house? Slice up some salami for the meat lovers, and leave the rest as is. Same dinner, no one missing out.

Swipe through for where to grab everything, straight from the people who grow it, mill it, and make it just up the road.

Every Saturday, 8:30am to 12:30pm, 71 Cimitiere Street Launceston.

New week, new thing we didn't know we needed. This time it's Bentley from Endangered Distilling Co. with something a bit different sitting alongside the usual bread vodka, paired with a fresh juice from his other venture, Tasmania Juice Press, made with produce sourced about as locally as it gets (though we're told the pineapple hunt around Tasmanian backyards didn't go to plan).

Running two stalls at once and still finding time to hand out taste tests, that's some serious market dedication. Come find Bentley and give it a try yourself.

We could tell you Harvest is the best market in the region. We do, often. But we're a bit biased.

So instead, here's what you've been telling us. From the ones who wandered down on a whim and never left, to the ones who've set their alarm for this every single Saturday for years.

A market only works because the people who show up make it what it is. So to everyone who's ever grabbed a coffee, chatted to a stallholder, brought the kids, brought the in-laws, or just kept coming back, thank you. Genuinely. You're the reason this works.

And if you're reading this and you're one of the ones who hasn't made it down yet, this is your sign. 8:30am til 12:30pm, every Saturday, 71 Cimitiere Street. Come see what everyone's talking about.

You are never going to believe this patron interaction we had... watch this to the end 🤣

Winter's the season for the slow stuff. Long cooks, rich sauces, the kind of dinner that makes the cold outside feel worth it.

This week Rhys is looking at something most people wouldn't think to reach for: Hare, from Lenah Game and Gourmet.

If your usual rotation of mince and chicken breast is feeling a bit flat this time of year, this is exactly the kind of thing worth trying instead.

There's an unspoken rule in Tassie winter, whoever's got the best puffer jacket wins. 🧥

A bit of cold has never stopped a true local from getting down to the market, if anything it's basically a rite of passage at this point. If the temperature's got you thinking twice about Saturday morning, don't let it. We've got a few tricks up our sleeve for staying warm once you're here.

See you Saturday, bright and early, puffer jacket optional but highly encouraged.
