1st Tamar Scout Group are now one of the many nominees at the Recycle Rewards recycle stations.

To donate funds from cans and bottles with the 10c refund symbol on the label collected, scan the barcode to nominate our Scout Group as a donation recipient.

Save the image to your smartphone and help raise funds for 1st Tamar Sea Scouts.

Collecting and recycling items through the Recycle Rewards scheme is an easy way for everyone to contribute to fundraising for our Scout Group. Every dollar collected helps and will be put towards new equipment for our youth members.

From handing out drinks to cheering on participants, your time, enthusiasm, and community spirit helped make the event a success. Thank you to our Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, parents, carers, and family members who represented our Group so proudly.

The latest round of Active Club Program grants help purchase additional or replace existing equipment.

1st Tamar Sea Scouts awarded $5,500 grant!

We're excited to announce that 1st Tamar Sea Scouts has secured a $5,500 Active Clubs Program grant to replace sails on two of our patrol boats. The new sails will improve safety, support sailing activities and help our youth members continue developing maritime skills, teamwork, leadership and confidence on the water.

Thank you to the Tasmanian Government for investing in local clubs and creating opportunities for youth members across Tasmania.

📢 Calling all 1st Tamar Sea Scouts families! 🌟

We're looking for parents, carers, family members, and Scouts (Joeys, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers) to help represent 1st Tamar Sea Scouts at the Cancer Council Women's 5km in Launceston.

Each year, our group volunteers at drink stations along the course, helping keep participants hydrated and cheering them on as they support a great cause. It's a fun and rewarding way to give back to our community and spend time with fellow Scout families.

📅 When: Sunday 13 September 2026 from 8:30am until around lunchtime
🏃‍♀️ Race starts: 9:30am

💧 Volunteer Locations:
Station 1: Birchalls/Myer Car Park, Patterson Street
Station 2: Toy World, York Street
Station 3: City Park (Monkey side)

Whether you can bring yourself, your family, or a few extra helping hands, we'd love your support. Every volunteer makes a difference!

A huge thank you to all of our Scouts, Cubs, Joeys, Venturers, Leaders, parents and family members who volunteered at the McGrath Launceston Running Festival drink stations. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who gave up their Sunday morning to support 1st Tamar Scout Group and the event.

Thanks to your time, energy and enthusiasm, thousands of runners were able to stay hydrated and encouraged throughout the event.
Volunteering like this demonstrates the Scout spirit in action — working together, helping our community and making a difference.

Thank you for helping make the day such a success.

🚨 WE NEED ALL HANDS ON DECK! 🚨

1st Tamar Scout Group is helping at the 🏃‍♂️ Launceston Running Festival 🏃‍♀️ and we need volunteers to hand out drinks to hundreds of runners.

This is one of our three major community fundraising events — and it’s also a fantastic, fun morning for Scout families to be involved together.

💧 We run THREE drink stations and need as many helpers as possible for the morning.

✅ Suitable for Joeys through to Rovers
✅ Parents & siblings welcome
✅ No experience needed
✅ Great community atmosphere

📅 Sunday 31 May
⏰ Approx. 8am – 12 noon

📍 Locations:
• West Tamar Highway
• East Tamar Highway near Mayne St overpass
• East Tamar Highway near University Way turnoff
