Over the past 5 decades thousand of Tasmanians have been directly and indirectly involved in 1st Tamar activities and we are positive that there are many stories and images to be shared in the telling of the 1st Tamar story. It is planned that a book and documentary style DVD will be produced, to this end we are putting out an invitation to the broader scouting community to become involved. You ca

🙋‍♂️ This is Your Year to Volunteer 🙋‍♀️

As part of National Volunteer Week and the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development ( ), we celebrate the people who generously give their time to strengthen communities and support young people.

At 1st Tamar Scout Group, our Committee members, Leaders and parent helpers make Scouts possible.

From camps and activities to fundraising, transport and behind-the-scenes support — every contribution helps create opportunities for our youth members.

The best part?
You don’t need special experience or lots of spare time to help.

Whether you can:
✔ assist occasionally
✔ help at an event
✔ join the Parent Committee
✔ support fundraising
✔ become a regular helper

…there’s a place for everyone in our Scout community.

⭐ Many hands make light work — and even a small amount of help makes a real difference.

If you’d like to get involved or learn more, speak to a Leader at the hall.

🌟 National Volunteer Week | 🌟

This week we celebrate the incredible volunteers who help make Scouts possible.

2026 is also the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development ( ), recognising the millions of volunteers around the world who strengthen communities and create positive change through service.

At 1st Tamar, we are proud to recognise:
👏 Stephanie and Adrian Forrester – 15 years of service
👏 Murat Djakic – reaching 20 years of service this year

Their dedication, energy and generosity have helped create countless opportunities and memories for young people in our Scout community.

Behind every Scout activity, camp and adventure are volunteers giving their time to support our youth.

💡 The good news? You don’t need to commit 15 or 20 years to make a difference.

Even helping occasionally with activities, transport, fundraising or committee support has a huge impact and helps keep Scouts strong for all families.

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, this is a great year to start. ⚓
