The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a cold, windy week for Tasmania as a series of cold fronts brings showers, alpine snow and gusty winds across the state.
The first front will cross today, sending scattered showers through the west and briefly into southern and central areas before a mostly fine afternoon, with snow above 1,000 metres.
The bureau said Tuesday will bring the wettest weather, with showers spreading statewide later in the day, snow dropping above 800 metres, inland frost and fog in central and north-eastern areas.
Showers will ease from Wednesday after snow possibly falls to 600 metres, before a high-pressure ridge clears skies on Thursday, apart from possible north-east morning frost.
