Help keep our vans on the road đź’™

Every week across Tasmania, Vinnies and Loui’s Vans provide more than a meal to people experiencing homelessness, financial hardship and social isolation.

Along with food and warm drinks, our vans offer connection, practical support and a safe place to turn.

This September, we’re launching our first Vinnies & Loui’s Vans Appeal, with a goal to raise $80,000 to help keep these vital services on the road.

Every donation can help make the next stop possible.

Homelessness is a reality for far too many people across Tasmania.

Over the past 12 months, an average of 78 people each month reached out to Vinnies for the first time. A reminder of just how many Tasmanians are experiencing hardship.

Behind every statistic is a person, a family and a story.

At Vinnies Tasmania, we believe everyone deserves dignity, compassion and a safe place to call home. đź’™

Together, we can help make a difference.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue supporting Tasmanians when they need it most.

Stay scam aware ⚠️ Scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated, with AI making it easier for scammers to impersonate trusted organisations, including Vinnies.

This Scams Awareness Week, we’re reminding everyone to stop and check before responding to suspicious emails or messages.

Remember, Vinnies will never ask for your bank account or Centrelink details through social media messages. For genuine support call 13 18 12.

đź’™ A heartfelt thank you to Vincent and Jill đź’™

At just 14 years old, Vincent has shown how compassion can be turned into practical action.

Wanting to support people experiencing homelessness during the cold Tasmanian winter, Vincent decided to create something personal and meaningful, a beautiful handmade baby quilt for a Companion in need.

With the guidance and support of his grandmother Jill, a member of the John Paul II Conference, Vincent carefully sewed the quilt.

Vincent’s generosity is a wonderful example of the important contribution our Vinnies Youth make to the work of the Society and the difference young people can make in their communities.

A huge thank you to Vincent and Jill for your kindness, time and care. We know this special gift will bring warmth and comfort to someone in need. đź’™

A small gesture can make a big difference. đź’™

Travellers passing through Hobart Airport can now support Tasmanian charities and not-for-profit organisations with our new community donation box, located just after security screening.

Every six months, we’ll partner with a different local organisation, with all donations going directly towards supporting their important work in our community.

We’re launching the initiative with Bethlehem House, a Tasmanian organisation providing safe accommodation and support services for people experiencing homelessness.

With this week marking Homelessness Week, it’s a timely reminder that everyone can play a part in supporting those who need it most.

Next time you travel through Hobart Airport, consider making a small donation and helping support a stronger, more connected Tasmania.
