Last week, communities came together in both Hobart and Launceston for Anti-Poverty Week, raising awareness, challenging misconceptions and advocating for a future where nobody is left behind.

Thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat, visited the community stalls and shared their hopes for a Tasmania where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

A special thank you to our co-host, CatholicCare Tasmania, and all of our event partners and collaborators for helping make these important conversations possible, including City of Hobart, Loreto Community Housing, Mission Australia, TasCOSS, City Mission, City of Launceston and The Salvation Army Tasmania.

At Vinnies, we know poverty is about more than a lack of money. It's about a lack of opportunity, security and choice. Together, we're continuing to advocate for a fairer Tasmania for all đź’™

Every week, 45 dozen eggs arrive at Vinnies Tasmania thanks to the generous support of Pure Foods Eggs đź’™

These eggs are helping provide nutritious meals through programs including our Community Breakfast, Dining with Friends, Vinnies and Loui's Vans and Emergency Relief services across Tasmania.

This consistent weekly donation means we can continue supporting people experiencing hardship with healthy, protein-rich food when they need it most.

Sometimes, a little support can make a big difference.

As living costs continue to put pressure on household budgets, our van volunteers are meeting people who need a little extra help to keep food on the table.

Others may be experiencing homelessness, loneliness or social isolation, with few places they feel comfortable turning to for support.

Whatever brings someone to a Vinnies or Loui’s Van, they are welcomed with dignity, kindness and without judgement.

Every Vinnies and Loui’s Van service requires food, drinks, supplies, fuel and other essentials to keep our volunteers on the road and reaching people across Tasmania.

🍽️ $80 can help provide around 20 warm meals and drinks.
📦 $150 can help stock a van with essential supplies.
â›˝ $200 can help cover around three weeks of fuel costs.
👨‍🔧 $750 can help fund one van service.
