A big shout out to Shane and the lovely team at Georgetown Meathouse who have kindly accepted one of our baskets into their store 👌 Thanks a million for your support we are most grateful 🙏

So please if you are in a position to help with feeding the need this Christmas for families who otherwise would go without you are welcome to pop in and drop off non perishable food items into the basket. Thank you 🙏

Some more families in your area have been personally delivered much needed food support and bedding today from us, taking some stress out of their situations. We also went and brought new school shoes and socks for one who was in need.

Good evening everyone ☺️

Today's temperatures hitting 26 degrees we thought having some nice cold ice creams on board to hand out this evening to our unhoused community members to help cool them down a little 👌

Meals of Lasagna were heated up made with love from the Launceston Catering company thank you once again everyone loves your cooking 🍳 and are most grateful for your support 🙌

Food was rescued from and the Bizy Bee 🐝 Thank you again for your help with providing extra food support with bakery and takeaway items 😋

We can blame Bill tonight for over cooking slightly the Chocolate brownie 🤣 still eatable and everyone enjoyed the treat 👌 Thanks heaps Bill for helping out this afternoon you are appreciated.

A busy night once again, we even had a young couple with a baby present for support this evening. Demand is only continuing to increase with one's in need of help with life's basic neccessaties 😢

Good afternoon everyone 😊

It's 10 weeks away until Christmas and we are already getting organised to ensure we can gather enough support yet again to help provide much needed food support to hundreds of families who would otherwise go without here in the North and Northwest of Tasmania.

We are really excited to have had Phil Davey Sheetmetal help with making up the baskets and Think Big Printing for the signage. Both given us discounted rates so thanks a million guys 👌 we are most grateful 🙏

A big thank you to David from Baxter's IGA for placing one of our new large baskets in store at Baxter's IGA in Prospect just inside the main doors👌

We will be having more baskets placed in other IGA stores in the coming week. We will post updates of each store that will have a basket placed 😀

If you are fortunate enough to be able to afford to please purchase an extra item or two and place into one of the baskets we would be most grateful for your help and support 💜 thankyou!

Good morning everyone 😀

The past week we have personally delivered support to many families and indivduals who have a roof but with the cost of living are unable to put food on the table.

Support was delivered to those in Rocherlea, Newnham, Riverside, Longford, Kings Meadows, Invermay, Ravenswood and Waverley.

We also provided clothing support, shoes and bedding to a few in need of these items.

A referral came from Hobart hospital for one in urgent need of clothing support so we purchased clothing from kmart and organised a click and collect. We hope this helped 🙏 We will be travelling to Hobart end of next week so we will be providing clothing packages so they can have them on hand for future need 😀

Another in a crisis situation in Hobart with one family who had a child's birthday today 🎂 happy birthday 🎂 and had no food available so we helped out with purchasing online and having a delivery made directly to them via Woolworths. We hope you can enjoy celebrating today 💜

We purchased more food supplies this week with buying cereal, long life milk, two minute noodles, jars of jam, tin fruit, biscuits, Muesli bars, pasta spaghetti, pasta, Bolognaise sauce, sausages and mince. These are the items and there are other items we are buying regularly to help with continuing to feed the need.

We have the storage facility OPEN this morning 9am until 12pm at Launceston Storage Solutions 37 Birch Ave in Newstead Shed 25.

A big thank you to everyone who have helped in the past week 🙏 with providing either your time, food or other support 💜 we are most grateful!

Every week we purchase more food supplies to cater for the needs of those who reach out for support.

If you are able to please help with any of the following items please:

Cereal
Long life milk
Two minute noodles
Hot chocolate
Jelly
Jars of jam or other spreads
Packets of pasta / Spaghetti
Bolognaise sauce
Tin fruit
Biscuits or crackers

Membership annual fee is $5 per person

Existing members can renew their membership by paying the annual fee.

Nominations for board members are now open you can email us at [email protected] to request your nomination form.

Our current Treasurer is resigning so we are looking for someone to take this position. Please email [email protected] for a nomination form and procedures for this position 🙏

AGM is to be held at the Newstead Hotel, 160 Elphin Road in the BBQ room, on Saturday the 14th November at 12.30pm.

We look forward to hearing from interested parties who would like to come along with us on our journey of continuing to provide for people in need here in the North and Northwest of Tasmania.

Good evening everyone ☺️

Tonight we heated up meals of Chicken Snitzels with vegetables, pasta bakes, Portuguese chicken rice, sausages with mashed potatoe, spaghetti Bolognaise and Lasagna kindly made with love from the team at Launceston Catering company 💜 Thank you once again for your tremendous support. Our unhoused community members are really enjoying your cooking and they are all most grateful 🙏

The weather seemed to warm up this evening which was great while we attended to many in around Launceston and Kings Meadows.

Food was rescued from and the Bizy Bee 🐝 with supplies of bakery and takeaway food provided to distribute around, thank you kindly!

Juice boxes, chocolates and self heating drinks were also given out.

Last night we were so grateful for Tasmania Police and St John Ambulance with assisting and helping one of our clients, you are amazing 👏 thank you so much for your support 🙏

Can't say much for the person who was driving on the Bass Highway around 9.10pm last night who decided to over take me with a motorbike and five cars heading right in your direction head first. You were so close to causing a head on collision with a motorbike and cars. After a big day at work and finally heading home this is not what you wish to have to endure. Then you slow down and wait for me to get closer to you and you suddenly brake then you took off speeding way over the limit ??

So many accidents happen on that stretch of road it would feel much safer if median barriers could be installed to save lives?

Someone has created more damage to our lockers who ever continues to try to get into the same 3 lockers we have no idea on why you would do this?

Now we are considering having to strengthen the doors some how which is another cost to us because of someone causing damage 😠

October is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Yesterday morning I was invited by a team of Mental health professionals to present via online our story about how Strike It Out Inc began and the difference we are making in our communities here in the North and Northwest of Tasmania.

Thank you so much for taking the time to listen about Strike It Out Inc 💜 and for your feedback.

It is important to have as many aware of what our organisation offers and how we can assist in a time of need.

We were contacted via one out in our community to help one who really needed support and other services were unable to assist at a time of need.

Keeping confidentially at the forefront ensuring not to disclose who one may be. Unable to be living in a place they pay weekly rent for as it had gotten out of hand we organised a skip bin and attended yesterday to start a cleaning process.

Unsure how one can possibly get to a point over the years when services are involved that ones life gets to an extreme level of mess?

We are now advocating to ensure that more is done to help this one out. Of course understanding that one has to accept help but on the otherhand at what capacity do we draw the line for the safety and well-being of one?

When you see something you can't unsee it 😢

Good evening everyone ☺️

Another night ventured in and around Invermay, Launceston and Kings Meadows providing free hot meals to our unhoused community members. A big thank you to the Launceston Catering company once again for providing fulfilling meals of spaghetti Bolognaise, snags peas and smashed potatoes topped with gravy and dishes of potatoe salad 💜

Once again we food rescued from and the Bizy Bee 🐝 we are most grateful for your support providing bakery and takeaway food, thankyou so much 💜

All food was distributed around with nothing left over. We also handed out juice boxes and self heating drinks.

The nights are still on the cold side so more sleeping bags and blankets were given out along with a tent and clothing package.

Monday nights the lovely ladies from the Morton Group attend to Civic Square where they assist free of charge providing much needed medical advice and assistance. Thank you so much for your important service you provide. We often help with paying for prescriptions to be filled for those who are unable to afford their medications.

A big thank you to our volunteers and supporters who help make this all possible 🙏
