Community NO to Veolia Rubbishing Invermay

Community NO to Veolia Rubbishing Invermay Residents say, No to a Waste Recycling Depot on this site. It is the Wrong Location! Every time there is a flood warning the site has to be evacuated.

Veolia, a French-based multinational waste (rubbish) management firm wants to put a waste (rubbish) transfer station next to homes in the Launceston Surburb of Invermay! This is not only the wrong location for a waste management business, it is an extremely poor choice of location. Veolia shareholders should be concerned that Veolia is investing in such a site in this era of climate change and sea

level rise because the site sits below high tide level in an estuary. The site has poor traffic access on a narrow, no-through road. There are alternative safe sites within the Launceston boundary with ease of traffic access that are very suitable for this business.
