Queensland Seniors Month at Landsborough Tennis Club

We had a great morning of tennis, catching up and socialising today as part of Queensland Seniors Month, with a number of our senior members joined by friends from Maleny Tennis Club.

It was a simple morning, a social hit followed by morning tea, but also a chance to recognise the contribution these members have made to our clubs over many years.

So many of our senior members have given their time, energy and support to their clubs over the years, whether through committee roles, volunteering, organising tennis or simply being there week after week. Our clubs would not be what they are today without that contribution.

A big thank you to everyone who came along, and especially to our friends from Maleny Tennis Club for joining us and making it such an enjoyable morning.

Great tennis, good company and a very worthwhile reason to get together.

Tickets are only $2 each, and the best part for our club is that 100% of every ticket sold through our page comes directly back to Landsborough Tennis Club.

There are 41 prizes worth over $300,000 in total, including a Toyota Kluger Hybrid, Toyota Yaris Hybrid, a Northern Lights cruise, travel vouchers, solar packages, gift cards and plenty more.

Every ticket you purchase helps us raise funds to continue improving our club and facilities for our members and the wider community.

Tickets are available until 8 October, so there’s not long to go!

A great afternoon of Hinterland tennis at Landsborough!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our US Open themed Hinterland Tennis Day today. It was great to welcome players from Maleny and Mapleton alongside our Landsborough members for a fun afternoon of social tennis.

The weather gave us a bit of a scare with rain during the warm-up, delaying the start. We got the courts squeegeed and ready. Thankfully, once the courts were dry the rain stayed away and we were able to enjoy a full afternoon of tennis.

There was plenty of great tennis, lots of different partners and opponents throughout the afternoon, and most importantly a really enjoyable atmosphere between the clubs.

Thanks to everyone who came along, helped out and made the day such a success. We’re already looking forward to the next Hinterland get-together!

Mixed Doubles Competition Final

A great finish to our Landsborough Tennis Club Mixed Doubles Competition!

Congratulations to our winners, Nardia & Dorian 🏆 and to our runners-up, Yean & Abe, after a great final.

It was fantastic to have everyone involved in the competition over the past few months, including our friends from Maleny Tennis Club who joined us and helped make the competition such a success.

A big thank you to everyone who played, organised their matches and got into the spirit of what we were trying to do. We’ve had some great feedback and, most importantly, plenty of enjoyable tennis along the way.

We’re looking forward to doing it all again next year and hopefully making the competition even bigger!

A big thank you to the Landsborough Pub!

We’d like to give a huge shout-out to our friends at the Landsborough Pub for getting behind Landsborough Tennis Club and supporting us.

It’s fantastic to have a local business supporting local sport, and their generosity will help us continue to improve the club and provide opportunities for tennis in our community.

We’d love our members, players and followers to return the support!

The Landsborough Pub is a great local spot for a meal or a drink, with plenty happening throughout the week, including Thursday night trivia, regular meal specials and weekend dining.

What a fantastic afternoon of tennis!

On the weekend, Maleny Tennis Club hosted their annual Wimbledon-themed Hinterland Tennis Day, bringing together players from Landsborough and other Hinterland clubs for an afternoon of friendly competition, great food and plenty of laughs.

With players dressed in Wimbledon whites, the atmosphere was brilliant. Off the court, players enjoyed a traditional Wimbledon afternoon tea featuring jam and cream scones, sandwiches, and of course, strawberries and cream.

The event is a wonderful opportunity to meet players from neighbouring clubs, enjoy some social tennis and strengthen the great friendships that exist between our Hinterland clubs.

A huge congratulations to our own Rachel, who finished the day as the overall winner, winning more games than any other player across the afternoon. A fantastic achievement!

A big thank you to Peter and everyone at Maleny Tennis Club for once again putting on such a well-run and enjoyable event. We can't wait to welcome everyone to Landsborough when we host the next Hinterland Tennis Day later this year.
