Can any one assist David ..(admin) ?

Hi! My daughter Rachel is 11 years old and she is completing the Rotary Junior Community Award. One part of this can be taking part in an environmental activity. Do you have any activities that she could help with that take place outside of school hours? I think the idea is that she would be helping the environment in some way. Thanks! David

Learn and share skills about sewing seed and making cuttings from local native plant species. Take home plants to care for and plant out in your garden/ block or in LECLG community planting sites.

East Gippsland CMA is holding a community consultation session tonight on the Regional Waterway Strategy at the Gippsland Lakes Fishing Club from 6–7:30 pm.
The 2014–2022 Waterway Strategy made some progress in coordinating river basin management. However, there remains an urgent need for the new strategy to better address critical water deficits in iconic rivers like the Snowy, Mitchell, and Tambo.
We have a real chance to encourage the East Gippsland CMA to strengthen their basin-based approach, ensuring healthy flows, water quality, and habitat protection from the catchment summits all the way downstream to the sea and Gippsland Lakes estuary.
Please attend tonight if you can—we need a strong community presence to highlight the value we all place on our waterways.

Make it a regular date – the last Wednesday of each month at Lakes Landcare’s Fire-Wise Demonstration Garden.
Meet the team behind the Men’s Shed on the corner of Myer Street and Coates Road at 9.00am for an hour or so of weeding and general maintenance.
The next session will be on Wednesday, 30 July. Give Beth a call on 0427 456 094 if you can come along and lend a hand.
And don’t forget to bring your gardening gloves, water and a hat.
