Get ready for country of origin seafood labelling.

Country of Origin Labelling is coming, and industry has a key role to play!

From 1 July 2026, Country of Origin Labelling (CoOL) will be enforceable for seafood sold in food service.

As we enter the final months of the transition period, Seafood Industry Australia is calling on industry to act as CoOL Champions — helping hospitality venues understand the new requirements and encourage adoption.

To support early adoption, SIA is launching Show Us Your CoOL, recognising food service venues that are already CoOL compliant.

A suite of ready-to-use assets is available to help you share the message across your networks.

I've got a lot of time for Trev and think he talks good sense... but the impression I get from the (lack of) communication from the state government is that they are coming after recreational fishers to tick government or commercial operators' boxes.

I foresee a boat rally out the front of WA Parliament if we get slapped with ridiculous measures. Until then, tight lines 🎣
