Event #34 - 13/6/2026

Well with only a tiny bit of rain and little to no wind 34 participants walked, jogged or ran. Volunteers braved the weather with RD John setting up a great little tarp to ensure our essential timekeeper and barcode scanners stayed dry. What would we do without those who put up their hand week after week to volunteer! Huge thank you to each of you: William John Matthews, Linda Palmer, Ilse Prozesky, Alison Bainbridge, Johann Prozesky, Stephen Ashley, Merron Riddiford, Jessica Bradley

We welcomed Katie Lovett, Stephen Ashley as first timers completing their very first parkrun. May you both enjoy many more parkruns to come. But of course we all know that Stephen is not a first timer - he's just been able to successfully train up a few timekeepers releasing him from his weekly timekeeping.

Well done to Olivia on achieving a PB and to Dusty and Olivia on being our first finishers.

We welcomed a number of tourists and hope you all enjoyed our parkrun. Comment below and mention your home parkrun so we know where you each come from. And if you blog your parkrun don’t forget to tag us! We love hearing about our tourists adventures. We may be small but our community spirit is big so we really do appreciate you all!

And in true parkrun style once we were all packed up the rain came down. Enjoy the rain and a nice warm Saturday afternoon.

Our RD John has studied the radar and confirms parkrun is all go! But it will be a good idea to have a rain coat in case it rains during parkrun. Remember we do not have any cover. RD John will have our tarp that will keep the timekeeper and barcode scanner dry to ensure you’ll get your time!

Leading melanoma pathologist and 2024 Australian of the Year, Professor Richard Scolyer has died aged 59 after a remarkable three-year fight against the 'worst of the worst brain cancers'

Richard was also a huge advocate for parkrun, acknowledging the benefits of activity for everyone. Last year he did reach his goal of participating in 250 parkruns. Included in that were two visits to our parkrun in 2024.

We send our condolences to all Richard’s friends and family.

You can see an Australian Story episode about Richard at this link:
