Please come along to hear from one of our locals that has been using drones to spray his land. We will have an educational session with discussions about chemical use and what’s working. There will be sample devils fig and tropical soda apple plants if you havent seen them before.
Landcare will speak on how a partnering with them can help us.

We are collecting the final petition pages from people that have made the effort to chase support and signatures. If you haven’t as yet signed our petition, I will be picking the final petition up from Wiangaree in the next few days, so please sign away if your supporting our area to gain help to eradicate tropical soda apple and keep our natural and agricultural land and community viable and not have this w**d take over causing such losses.

Our group of concerned community members, (Thanks to john Bartrum), can purchase the chemicals used to kill tropical soda apple at a greatly reduced price. Our understanding is that the chemical Hatchet Extra Herbicide is the same as Grazon Extra and has been validated by Rous as a chemical to use effectively.

A bulk purchase from Specialists Sales, will reduce the costs significantly. As a group if we purchase 20 x 20 litre containers, we will be able to purchase them at a cost of $475 including GST each. If we purchase 40 x 20 litre containers, we can purchase each one for $470 including GST. Please see all prices and quantities as per our quote from Specialist Sales below.

This email is to quickly get expression of interest from people interested in being a part of this bulk order. We will be asking for the chemicals to be paid for (with a receipt of course) upfront for your order to be included in the purchase. As you can understand that a purchase like this is too big for any one of us to carry while waiting on people’s payment. Please review the chemicals below and let me know ASAP if you are interested, when we get the final numbers, we will decide which discounted order we qualify for and we will then ask you for payment of the chemicals you’re purchasing. The cost includes delivery to Kyogle.

3. Surefire Metsulfuron Methyl Herbicide 5-kg @ $199.00 (Qty x 1)

4. Vigilant II Gel Herbicide 240-Gram @ $47.50 (Qty x 10). This can be touched on individual plants if in small numbers and sporadic.

We are hoping to share information on this page and keep people up to date with our attempts to lobby both state and federal government to support us with this Bio Security threat. Those that came along to the last two meetings will be aware of the serious risk that this invasive w**d poses to our land and our livelihoods.
